My KODAK DIED.  

I think I have the same camera though it might be a slightly older model...and sadly never did figure out how to make it work reliably. I ended up buying a DSLR, which is way more expensive but man is it nicer - and the battery is rechargeable and I've used it for days at a time without needing to recharge it, unlike the Kodak which needed batteries replaced every few hours. And the pictures are of incredibly better quality now! My cousin also had the same Kodak camera and she too would get stuck with the blank camera that wouldn't turn on sometimes.

I would check the batteries again (maybe use another brand), maybe contact Kodak to see if they can help you troubleshoot it or visit their website...and sadly if none of that works it is time to get a new camera.

I have the same problem, Hiccup! I have a Kodak EasyShare C433 - like you, I've never dropped it, mistreated it, and have bought fresh batteries. Sometimes it turns on - sometimes it doesn't. If I jiggle the batteries around, sometimes I'll strike lucky. I've tried several different types of batteries - including really expensive ones - but it's just luck of the draw whether the darn thing turns on or not! It's not even a very old camera - so go figure! It started playing up when I'd only had it a month or two - suppose I should have taken it back, but I didn't, because at first I blamed the batteries. We've just bought one of our daughters a camera for Christmas ... and it WASN'T A KODAK! I went for a Sony CyberShot this time - hopefully with better luck!

Are the batteries in right? I've put the batteries in backwards before and my camera wouldn't turn on until I righted them. Also, sometimes, the connections get loose in the battery compartment so no connection is made.

But, from what I've read in your other comments, it may just be that model that has problems. I've never had a Kodak so I can't say.

I wish you luck in getting the problem solved so you won't have to buy a new camera, even though their prices have come down dramatically over the years.

Sorry to hear about your loss. So when is the funeral?
Just kidding. Go to a Kodak showroom and ask for their opinion. If its a small matter they might not charge you.

When was the last time you last used it? Could the batteries corrodes and caused a leakage inside?

I have had a Kodax camera for a while and have never had any problems except when i first bought it. I took it home and took a bunch of pics and it died... it wouldn't even turn one! I took it to the store and they did something and it works now. I wish i could help but i don't know anything about them.

hi hiccup I would get ahold of Kodak and tell them what model
it is and how its not working no matter what you do, and it
has new batteries.could be in the switch but they would know
a lot more than me. I am not knowledgeable on cameras at
all. but seems like Kodak should have some troubleshooters.

I had a Kodak Easy share camera that died after two years of producing quality pictures... and based on my research... that is the life span of most easy share cameras... i think it is not worth the money i paid for... but then... there is really nothing i can do... except get a different camera brand... which i did... i bought a canon camera... and after 3 years... it is still working great...

I do sympathise with you for it's behaviour, where you never troubled him and itha sgone dead. My hobby is photography and I am still having its mother version 'BOX' type brought in 1969 for INR 38/- ButI am not taht much professional to guide you. I understand your attatchment for your camera. It isdifficult to part away easily.
