Today, we hold a discussion with the friends in a University in Canada. One Ph.d candidant presidented this discussion, the topic we discussed is on the instructional design. But in this discussion, I found the communication tool is not well.Because we could not hear other members's vioce. It costed a bout one hour to solve the problem. Now, I want to know, if you join a remote dicussion, what communication tool do you use? can you provide some tools for me? Thanks.

I often use skype, and sometimes i use icq and msn. They are all convenient. In fact many people use them and they can offer forum for memebers to discuss.

I don't have such a remote discussion with foreigners, but I have some discussions with my American colleagues on some issues. It is fun though to have a face-to-face discussion. I think that it is good for us to have some discussions that help brainstorm our mind in thinking fast and rationally. I think that Skype as well as QQ can be a very good communication for voice chatting. What is the tool that you used for the communication?
