To be honest, I wish we would quit making references to people without using a hyphen.

I would prefer to say that I like American literature. The text you refer to is brilliant, but I would think it was brilliant regardless whether or not there is a hyphen involved.

If we truly want to make everyone equal, we should quit using hyphens to determine ones heritage. I can't think of any other immigrant group that wants to be associated with the country they came from.

We are ALL Americans... Just. Americans. The sooner we realize that, the sooner we will be united. I know you don't live in America and aren't an American, but using a term like that, although it identifies its author as a black writer, it also qualifies it as being an alternative text.

I mean no offense, please don't take it that way. I just wanted to make a point about how we all perceive tiny bits of information that keep the racial divide alive.

I have always hated literature while i'm in school.. lol =D

The only story i knew was about, romeo and juliet.. lol =D The most romantic and touching story, to get me hooked at some point of time.. hehe ^_^ Other than that, or rather, besides that, literature is not interesting to me, and i dun even know the meaning of 'literature'.. hehe

There is no one particular genre of literature that appeals to me.
I read all sorts of books. From cooking to romance to adventure to fantasy to graphic novels.

Of late, I have been indulging myself in investment books. And reading up loads to brush up my investment skills. I hope to one day to build a portfolio that is big enough to allow me to quit my day job without worrying about money!

Till then, the rest of the genre will have to wait!
