Does anyone read The Wheel of Time Series? |
| |
| I just finished reading The Gathering Storm, book 12 of the Wheel of Time Series and was upset that I'm done. This book was co-written by Brandon Sanderson after Robert Jordan's death. I found that the writing style different and not quite as good as Jordan but I loved the story anyway. About 2/3 of the way through, the book got very good and I have been up most of the past few nights reading because I couldn't put it down. Has anyone else read this book yet? I would love to hear other fans' comments. | | | | | |

| | I do read The Wheel of Time series. But I stopped when I finished book 5, and now I'm rereading it from book 1 because I've forgotten many things. And I got confused with the events that I decided to go read it from the start. And I'm looking forward to reading the latest book, though I still have to go through 10 books. | | | | | | |

| | Yeah, I'd reccomend it even if I haven't finished it yet. I got confused with all the characters and the plot, and found it very insteresting to really understand it that's why I'm rereading it. Hope you'll read it too. | | | |

| | Oh man the ending chapter, "Veins of Gold." I get giddy every time I think of it. The Gathering Storm actually ranks among the top of that series for me. After about 6 months of reading Crossroads of Twilight (never again haha) I plowed through Knife of Dreams and The Gathering Storm in about 2 weeks. | | | | | | |

| | Oh my God. That's all I've got to say about Wheel of Time. I first read 'Eye of the World' in my native language, Estonian. I started thinking about it and it was incomplete. I did a research and discovered the other 9 books (Knife of Dreams hadn't been published yet). Then I was dying to get my hands on the other books. Fortunately the library had them in English, excluding 'Dragon Reborn' and 'Fires of Heaven'. I thought, what the heck and read them anyway. I downloaded the whole series to my computer and then reread them. Loved the 12th book. I was a bit hesitant at first because the prologue's writing style wasn't at all Robert Jordan but then it got better. Actually, it got so much better, I read it in one reading (oh uh, my poor eyes). I usually think a epic book series is good when the hero/heroine dies either young or the epilogue is from the very aged hero/heroine's perspective, like 'Windhaven' by George R.R. Martin and Lisa Tuttle. I've changed my mind about Rand. It would be a bummer for him to die. Although he's a bit blind (I have to agree with Nynaeve) I do enjoy it when he converses with the Aiel =). | | | | | | |
