| |  I think to a large extent it is true.Money brings power and therefore prestige today.But not in all cases.Some people like teachers still earn a lot of prestige even though financially they may not be that well off.I know people will say teachers do not get the same amount of respect they used to get, but still there is some amount of respect still shown to mentors and teachers even now.
