BANKS Do This to YOU.  

Yes I have noticed that although once I had the upper hand with the bank so I could talk to the manager like a child! That was great, they had handed me someone elses documents, I took it to the local paper, handed back the documents after some negotiation and then I got flowers too!

Utter tosh Hic, it's only those dreadful automated centres that carry on like that - real banks still exist. I use several, one is very small, the manager and I greet each other by first names and he lets me use the photocopier without charging me whilst he's attending to whatever I need. The second one is most pleasant as they don't have queues and one of my friends has a desk there so it's kiss kiss and sit and have a chat before doing the necessary. The 3rd has the delightfully georgous brother in law of one of my local friends in it for quick swoon factor. The 4th is the very very busy one with hundreds of people with tickets waiting, mostly in the cafenion opposite, and there the manager always comes out from behind his desk to shake my hand and have a chat. The 5th I have no reason to go in as they send out statements. Which leaves the big bank in England which is manned by machines or if you can get one, human automatoms.

That hasn't happen yet an I am bad about speaking my mind if a bank spoke to me like that I would simply what heck is your problem

O hiccup! Come to Sweden! Nobody talks to you like this, at least NOT if they are Swedish! There seems to be this inground understanding that you are an adult! Even for those who are that in years of LIFE may have a trouble to understand what the bankman says because it is just so. They speak ADULT to you..

That has annoyed me more than once grr.. but ,, it goes to show.. it works both ways, who knew?

I'm fortunate not to have to talk much to my bank. I do it all online and go in twice a year to discuss my investments. When I first met with the investment adviser I told him I was not stupid and if I don't understand something I will ask questions--because I know they think people are like children when it comes to money. I tell my doctor the same thing. I refuse to be treated as if I am a moron.

oh yes I hate that like they know every thing which they dont then ya already know what they are going to say in the first place!

Someone only ever tried that on me once, and I had the manager on their tail so fast, their heads spun. LOL After all, a bank is an adult run establishment, and should be run by adults, and if this happens to me, I will never miss an opportunity to bring this fact up to them.

In the US they are getting better than they used to be. It was very annoying in the past, though.

Welcome to the establishment called Legal Loan Sharks a.k.a. bank, so what are you expecting from them?

I believe, nowadays with everybody on the edge of the seats in the financial centers, banks are not spared and I just cannot blame the staff to be edgy. Besides, banks nowadays are going automated on much of their normal banking functions - so I suppose going impersonal just has it coming.

Anyway, I'd just turn a deaf ear and walk away, just don't like to stoop together with them.

hi hiccup that reminded me of the second phone call I got
from bank of America again trying to sell me on some plan
they had and the woman did talk to me like she thought
i was a little kid. I try to get her to stop her spiel long
tnough to tell her I w as not interested in this particular
plan. she then got that adult to rebellious little kid
sound in her voice and began all over again with the canned
talk so I did like I often do to telemarketers, I just rudely
hang the hell up. let them babble to empty air. they call me'
I did not call them.
