No christmas party in the company this year?  

I do not know whether this company is going to celebrate Christmas this year. They have already paid a poor bonus on Diwali festival and cheated all employees but nobody wants to risk his or her job by complaining about this at the time of recession. However it will be too bad if they really do not give a reason to cheer at Christmas.

oh ybonjoc that is sad to hear, how business oriented is he .. Can't we even have a celebration for one day .. well i don't work now, i am still a student.. but we sure are going to have a nice time during Christmas with family and friends...

There are a lot of companies that are actually doing some cost cutting measures considering the economic situation. I know of one company who is not having any christmas party just to save money so as to continue operations and not retrench any employee. Well, I know that it is quite frustrating not to have any Christmas party, but perhaps we should also consider the management side. Anyway, I am sure that you will still enjoy Christmas as you go home. Advance Merry Christmas to you!

he is probably trying to save money. one thing you could do is organise an informal christmas party with your colleagues - it doesn't need to be too expensive because you could hold it at the house of one of you and everybody bring something to eat or drink.

what do you expect from a Japanese] most specially if the business is uncertain. you know if he's really interested into this christmas spirit, he should have allowed pot luck party from the employees instead but of course he would have preferred a restuarant for you guys to feast on

Ohh... That is quite disappointing. I have resigned a few months ago from my previous employment and had left another company a few years ago, but still my ex-workmates and I will arrange a Christmas gathering for us. In a way, it reminds us that we used to work in the same company before and have become close friends since. We still keep in touch and remain good friends, and it's so great to have a gathering once in a while. Before, we also used to have Christmas parties at work every year, and we had lots of fun and wonderful memories.

my work isn't seeming to have one this year either. I only been here 2 years but last year we had a nice one. This year just doesn't seem like anyones doing much of anything. Which sucks because its the holidays and parties area lways good time. Plus getting to hang out with coworkers is fun as well

Hello all!I have the same problem at in a Roumanian firm.Our manager told us that we have no christmas party and no gifts this year because of the mondial cryses and all is unhappy because last year was diferent,and now all celebrate christmas and new year at home.

Sorry to hear that you did not have your company Christmas party this year. I do not work but I did get to go to my husband Christmas party.
