|  This is very true in Malaysia. People shun numbers like 4,13 and 14. To the people in Malaysia, 4 sounds like death in the Chinese vernacular. The number 13 is considered unlucky by the English educated. So, developers will change house numbers to 12A. the same goes for floors in tall buildings. Here they also use 12A. Many also do not like the number 14. This is because the Chinese believe the numbers means 'easy to die'. The numbers '74' is also avoided by suspicious Chinese men as it means to be "sterile" and you would likely be unproductive. Do you have such beliefs about numbers in your country?

| |  It is number 3 here. But 2, 4, 13 as well. Not 14. That is because 14 = 1+4 = 5, which is considered to be lucky. :)

| | Well 3 is okay for the Chinese. It sounds like 'sung' which has an equivalent meaning of 'freshness' or ' youthful'. So when you see car numbers in Malaysia bearing such plates as '2323' or '3333'or '3838', it signifies 'Forever Young' and 'Youthful and Lucky'. For some Chinese subgroups, the number '4' has no significance but to the Cantonese and Fukien, it symbolizes 'death'! | | | |

| |  Well, here in the Philippines, some people shun the numbers 6 because of "666" and 13. Good thing they are not as superstitious with numbers compared to most Chinese. Being Chinese myself, I always encounter clients who avoid the numbers you mentioned. So, it is sometimes hard when you work in a bank. They would reject account numbers with number 4 and since the account numbers were system generated, we would have no choice but to close the account. Lol. =^_^=

| |  Even in the Hindu astrology, the 4th house and 8th house depict death of parents and relatives, but also depends on the placement of other planets.
But there is no exact superstition of numbers. But numerology does work in certain ways and I make sure I don't do certain things on certain dates, and I try to see which number is significant for smooth worth with no obstacles and choose that particular date. But I haven't done it for a long time now.
