Oh I know what you mean about hanging on to the dimes. Mine is filling up a lot slower than the little kids are. I'm glad you are using yours and you are very welcome. Just remember to buy the incense! ok?

your're so cute. You always make me smile. So what you need to do is just relax and have a cold one tonite. When you are done, rinse the bottle and just start saving those dimes. Don't touch them until it's full.

Ya, I have a huge jug that I collect change in and it does add up for sure. I think for the kids it is knowing the amount they will have if they fill it and also that it is small and quicker to fill. Of course with the kids, they are snitching all the dimes they can from parents, relatives etc.

I wish it was just the copnips (small coppers) that the kids went for, they look for the silver and the notes!

I know! Well at least with these it is just the dimes. Well, not exactly. One little girl was taking the quarters and changing them in just to fill it more quickly.

I just use a regular 12oz beer bottle. I usually use Miller High LIfe because it is clear and there is no logo on it once you remove the label. They are easy to paint up. You should try it.

I'm a cashier and I don't get annoyed with change. It is money after all. The thing is that we can only hold so much in our drawer at a time. If we get an overload of any particular coin then we have to roll it up and sell it to the change fund which can be time consuming. I usually give the rolls to the customer and ask them to sit at one of our tables and roll them up. I save change too. My bank has a machine that counts all change so I just bring in my jug and turn it in for cash when its time to turn it in. It sure does come in handy, doesn't it? I try not to touch mine all year but you know how that goes. More than once, it has saved us.

I wish you were our Cashier here but that can´t be so, maybe some other time.
Those cents really do come in handy and I´m out to save them big time this year I may not make a million but I will make something just for me for a change.
I´m using three old socks with 1, 2 and 5 cents written on them with Biro on the outside and that makes me less lazy to count them and save them with more fervour (grin).
If I were to use a Bottle like that you see they would cotton on really quick and Adios Money Dinero (grin).
So I´m gonna be like a little mouse really quiet about my secret savings hey I won´t be able to buy the Empire State Building but I will have a bit at the end of the Year.

great idea with the socks! If you don't let anyone know of your hiding spot then it should add up pretty well by the end of the year. You would be surprised at how event the pennies add up.

Yes I will not tell anyone where I´m going to put them they will not think of bothering just for that whereas if I had a Bottle right under their noses then they might just decide to dip in their little fingers.

Ya, they are so cute. Some of them give me weekly reports at their progress. I hope that it stays with them. I know my kids have seen the benefits of saving change and even tho they are grown, they all have their little banks or jugs that they toss it all into.

Sure was´nt me I never take small change to the Supermarket (grin) I was on about something different way down this page.
I dislike the ones with never ending credit cards to try out and the ones that put the Shopping into the Carrier Bags right on top of the Counter and holds everyone up my stuff goes straight into the Trolley and then into the Bags.

These little dime catchers are easy easy easy to make. You just paint them up and maybe decoupage a picture on them and them seal them with a sealer you can get in the craft store and your good to go. The incense burners are done the same way but there is a little bit more to it.
