Should I asked for the meat she has left? |
| |
| I am not going to ask her for the meat. MY mother thinks I should ask for it. This is what happened. I went shopping and bought a big pack of lamb chops. I never ate in my life this stuff. So I decided to give it away. I called my neighbor to ask if she eats them. She said yes she does. So,I told her daughter to carry them to her house. I made the mistake of sending my huge pack of pork chops up stairs. Today I called to let her know of the mistake I made. She told me she gave half the pack away to her mother. So Now I can't get it back. MY mom wants to knock on her door to ask for my meat. My mother says she knew it was not lamb chops when she opened the pack. I feel like it was my fault I lose the $17.00 in meat. Please tell me what you think. Thanks so much | | | | | |

| | If this was me, then I would forget it! She probably figured you didn't want the pork chops, either. If you want to ask for the other half, then ask for it. I hope it isn't eaten already. You can also ask her to buy you another one, when she gets paid. If you are hurting for meals, maybe she can make you an extra plate, for the next few meals. Where I live, all of our neighbors share food. | | | | | | |

| | Now this was an honest mistake. Go to her yourself, explain what had happened and if the meat is used already, ask her to buy the same amount for you. If she do not want to do it, or cannot afford to, leave it. Do not make an issue of it, it will only ruin everything. If you can live without it, so be it. I am sure that you do not want any bad vibes between you. | | | | | | |

| | Gosh that's a toughie. And since you need to stretch your grocery dollars as do the rest of us I would not blame you to try to find a solution to this dilema. I'd say since she gave it away I don't know that there's much you can do other than see if you can come to an agreement for her to perhaps pay you back for the pork chops and then you'll give her the lamb chops as origionally intended w/ no strings attached. Or just let it go & be more cautious or not share next time? | | | | | | |

| | I think what I would do is get the lamb chops out of the freezer and walk to her house with them and ask her if she would be willing to give you what is left of the pork chops for the lamb chops that you had originally intended to give to her. I know that you would still be losing out to a certain degree, but it wouldn't be as bad as it would have been to have lost out of both the lamb chops and to also lose out on the pork chops as well. If she won't do that, then I guess I would just consider it to be a lesson learned. | | | | | | |
