What Do you Think about Guns in playing Venues?  

Well I think that the mentality of that individual has to be questioned as well. He can claim that the gun is for protection but it's more of a thug with a gun. And how much respect does he have for all the rest of his teammates to bring a gun into the locker room? What happens if someone else gets his gun and accidentally shoots another? I really don't think anything positive could happen and they should suspend him pending a mental review and anger management counseling at least and make him pay for it plus a fine. Professional players are supposed to be held at a much higher standard because they make way too much money as it is. Over inflated egos playing an overpaid sport!

i think the suspension is part if disciplinary action by the commissioner and safety for some athletes too and that decession is good

This things should not be tolerated. There is no certain what he will do with that weapon. What if he will get angry and cannot control himself and shoot somebody, Even basketball is a sport but sometimes heated exchange will occur and we never know what will happen next. It must be a safe place to be with as it is sports.
There is no place for that gun in there. Maybe he should have left it in his car.

With the news lately about the actions of Gilbert Arenas, it seems to me that his apology is not sincere. I hope that the lesson that he's into will make him wiser. But I think that he has already squandered a big amount of his earnings because according to the news, he will not be paid for whatever games he will miss. The Wizards also condemned the incident and I think that they are working a legal way to scratch Arenas in their roster of players.

i do not believed in guns...i mean in solving problems or conficts. so in any venue it should not be tolerated...

the root is very deep why there is gun..if guns were banned or abolished the person involved in what u mentioned will not be suspended.

u cannot tell the persons mentality really...there are some looking sane but insane when certain problems challenge them or vice versa.

I am a big admirer of Gilbert Arenas as a player but what was he thinking????? His actions could cost him his future in the NBA. He has been suspended by the NBA and it is seriously possible that they could ban him for life. I hope it does not come to that as we would miss a fabulous talent of the game.

As professionals, these players should carry a very high sense of responsibility and credibility. They are being looked up by a lot of people all over the world and they are could influence a lot of people, especially kids. Guns are very dangerous and should not be tolerated by big groups such as the NBA. In the first place, why would someone like Gilbert Arenas carry a gun in the locker room when the arena is, I believe, guarded well by security personnel? Such actions just tarnished the good name of the NBA and probably the whole professional sports leagues and athletes. I think the NBA should be more strict about this especially when it comes to checking people going in different arenas, not only spectators but also include team staffs, players, and even arena staffs. The only people that must be allowed to carry weapons/guns inside the game venues are the security personnel and I think that is an SOP on different public places. The suspension just serves Mr. Arenas right. He's no longer a kid that should be reprimanded often about guns and his actions. He is a professional and he should act like one. I just can't imagine if all players in the NBA carry guns in their locker rooms and end up shooting each other after the game, especially at heated games like in the playoffs.

I'm sure that in just about any place of work you would be sacked for bringing a Gun to work. What he did was a very stupid thing.
