My dogs are being super bad!!!

My dogs have good days and bad days. Some days I let them out of their room in the morning and the rest of the day goes by fine. Buttt today is a bad day, They were getting into the thrash and the big one got food off the counter, and they have fresh food and water out for them. They got in trouble and they know it and are back in their room, but now they won't stop whining. I don't know what to do but if my fiance was here then they wouldn't be acting up! The only thing he does different is haveing a stronger voice... so i cant help that? What do you do when your dogs are being bad? how did you train you dog to stay out of the thrash and the counters?

Is it a full moom. MIne are nuts today too but in the case of my lab, it's snowing. I refuse to leave her out side for over an hour at a time because she get's too cold. So when inside she is crying, barking and begging to go back out to play. My hound is the opposite and doesn't want to go out so is hyper because he really needs a good run....aahhhhh

I understand completely. My big dog she a hound too and my main problem when it come to whining and crying!!

What type of hound? Mine is a blue tick coonhound (Mylot won't let me spell that right).
