Do Yu Buy Used Products? |
| |
| As everyone knws I bought my computer used...I dont recommend buying a used computer, because it has casued me so many problems.Last night it kept telling me it could not detect an internet connection, and after about 45 minutes I just went to bed and turned it off!! I bought my little boy a used PS2 at a pawn shop yesterday. He'd been wanting one,and I fugured it would doubleass a DVD player.Wel, surprise surprise,it wont play DVDs!! Ive always loved a good bargain, thrift stores have gtreat stuff!!Ive never bought used electronics beofre now, and I think I am going to stick with new from here on out. What about you? Do you buy items like this used? Have you had good experiences? Or do you always buy new stuff? | | | | | |

| | I love bargained products too. I want branded products but usually buy those things if they're with discounts. I love cheaper things but I never wanted to buy second-hand products simply because I cannot make sure of its quality. This computer I bought few months ago is cheaper compared with other computers but I made it sure that this was brand new the time I bought it. I also made sure that all of its parts were functioning well. So far, it's functioning well. Almost all of the things I bought were new and not used before. | | | | | | |

| | I would never recoomend buying a used computer. I think you are taking someone elses problem, and I will NEVER buy another used one again. I llove a good bargain, but sometimeas a bargain isnt good and you end up wasting ,money and time. | | | |

| | hi erikmama I cannot really complain about my used computer as my son got it free then he worked on it to bring it up to par, and has made so many additions and stuff it works like a new computer. the one thing we had to do was get rid of all the stuff that was on the hard disc that had belonged to the previous owners who were my son's bosses at the time. this was sort of interesting as they had a lot of pictures you could download that meant nothing to us. but my son did it all and thus I had a computer for free, could not beat that, and I still have it too, with a lot of modern additions to it. he he he. | | | | | | |

| | Wow, I am glad to hear someone had good luck with a used computer. Mine is a plain and simple piece of crap that I wastred my money on. But it is working long enough for me to do what I need to do so I am ok for now... Mine was suppose to be wiped clean and all this and that but I dont think it was done right. It is horrible. I know nothing about computers, so it doesnt help either. What about purchasing used products at a place such as a pawn shop or ebay? | | | |

| | Used products are really a hit and miss for me. Sure you might find some decent stuff. With some great deals that can save a great deal of money. Still, you really do not know exactly what that product has gone through before it was sold. It may work for a little bit before breaking down. Electronics is something that I would rarely if ever buy used. Clothing would be another matter entirely but not electronics. | | | | | | |

| | I always buy new stuff cause talking about costly items like computers, TV, or even cell phone they are sort of long term investment and one should always buy good quality even if a computer gives me a good 5 yrs of good working its great. but if u buy a cheap stuff and it breaks everyday and you will be spending more money in repairs than for what u bought it and in spite of that no good service for long time that is frustrating. | | | | | | |

| | You get what you pay for. This is esepcially true when it comes to electronics. And I thik you are right. If you consider how long the item will last new, it is really not that much money. | | | |

| | Im sorry about your bad experiences with your used "new" electronical items. I dont mind buying items used, or go to the market to look after good sale offers, i shop accoridng to opportunities, though some things im not willing to buy used based on my ethics. I dont mind using clothes which was fashion 3 monthes ago if i can get it for half the price, because the quality is the same :D | | | | | | |

| | It depends on what the item is. I won't buy used electronics, used furniture or used clothes. I WILL buy used CDs and used books. :0) | | | | | | |

| | Hi Mama, I would like to prefer to buy a new computer instead of old one because of the many more problems , so better to have the new computer in order to have the peaceful mind while working especially while mylotting. Still there are more option to old computer and also you need to do lots of work and it will work like new computer. So better to call your computer technician in order to check properly and find out the real problems to make the active one and then you can enjoy your time with that old computer. I am wishing you best of luck to have your computer in perfect condition after the service. Have a nice day. | | | | | | |

| | I bought my computer second hand just a couple of weeks ago. It's a bit slow, but it does for what I want it for - basically word processing and connecting up to the internet. It only cost £31 (including £8 postage and packing) so even if it breaks down in six months time, I figure I'll still have had decent value. I have an extremely good pair of German Army surplus boots which have served me very well in the arctic weather we've been having here for the last few days (I've owned those boots for 20 years and they're still going strong). Other things I buy second hand are mostly books, DVDs and videos (the charity shops that I frequent sell films on VHS for as little as 10p-50p these days, and DVDs can often be had for £2-£3). My car's secon-hand, but that's only because I can't afford a new one. All the guns I've owned so far (except for one air pistol) have been bought second-hand, but that doesn't matter because most of them had been maintained properly. Obviously it's always a bit of a gamble buying sophiticated items like cars and computers second-hand, but you don't always have a choice if your earnings are low. | | | | | | |

| | I have made my money back that I spent on the computer, so I am good if it breaks down tomorrow, which I hoipe and pray it doesnt because I cant afford another one. For a couple hundred more I could have a brand new computer with no problems that would las tfor a few years atleast. Even though I have got my omoney out of it, it has been very frustrating doing things on the internet, trying to download things, etc.etc.etc. Of course you can find good deals on used cars, clothes, cds, books, etc.and I love these oitems and shopping at thrift and consignment stores. I just dont think I will do electronics used anymore.Very frustrating!! | | | |

| | I too am hoping to earn back the money I spent on my computer through online earnings. Then maybe in a few months (if I've still got the job I'm doing at the moment, and no disasters happen) maybe I'll have enough money put by so I can think about buying a new one. Nothing's certain in this world, though. | | | |

| | Well, it seems when I am thinking about purchasing something it works like a charm while I am in the store. It is when I get it home I start to have problems. It is such a big chance when you are buying used things, especially with electonics.I will continue my thrift shopping but not for electronics!!!! | | | |
