I'll Be There-MJ or MC?  

For sure it has to be Michael Jackson's version. I'm not to fond of the way Mariah Carey sings. Plus its usually the original version that is the better one. To me there is no comparison between Michael and Mariah.

well you cant really compare nichael jackson with mariah carey.michael jackson is the king of pop.and mariah carey is aghhh like a baby to him.if michael had lived another decade he would have created history..sorry he had already created history

Mariah Carey does have very good technical vocal control, it lacks a little soul which Micheal Jackson obviously have. I think sometimes you can hear Michael bear his soul in his song.

They are both great versions but for me just the fact that he could sing like that at the age that Michael Jackson was sways it in his favour. I love the Mariah Carey version and she really made it her own.

While I will admit that I do like Mariah Carey, I think the better version of this song has to definitely lie with Michael Jackson. The reason for it, Michael Jackson sang the original version of the song and though there could be several remakes of a song through the years, the most popular and therefore the most unique version of a song will always be the original version. When an artist remakes a song, they are taking the easy way out and though it is successful for many artists, they don't gain as much recognition by doing that.

of course the the original singer, MJ. he has such magical voice and the feelings that he is giving whenever he sings a certain song is just so heart warming.

Without a doubt, Michael Jackson when he was with his brothers as the Jackson 5; I grew up on that. We would sing behind the song; all of that. Nothing against Mariah I think she makes a good version, but hearing Mike sing it, it don't get no better.

OMG! both are my favorites and its hard to choose between the two. but i think the better version is by MJ's. He really sang it with emotions and you really can feel it.

I really love Mariah and her voice but definitely the best version is still the original. Michael Jackson is really great and amazing, to think he was so young when he sang it, and there's a lot of emotion to it. Whenever I listen to it, it's like I'm listening to an angelic. His voice is so angelic and I love it. The original is always still the best. But I like Mariah version too, they are different.

_But Michael sang it with his heart, knowing that he's still a kid that time--it's amazing how he understood the song and sang it with his soul...
