What brand of toilet paper do you use and why do you prefer it?  

I am the type of person that gets a large pack of loo roll as i have lots of people in my family as well as i always tend to buy what ever is the cheapest as well as best for the value.We get through lots of loo roll every week and i find that it do not matter what make the loo roll is,i do like the soft loo roll best.

I have to say, this is not a topic I thought I'd be discussing outside my family! lol

We buy toilet paper in bulk also, but I like the store brand at the store where we shop. Price Chopper, which is a local brand only. However, it reminds me of Cottonelle, which I like--also similar to Angel Soft. I've used that too.

Sometimes, as you discovered unfortunately, the cheapest brands don't always end up saving you money in the long run. Either there isn't enough on the roll, or it's glued through too many layers, like you said, or the sheets are so thin, that you end up using twice as much as you would otherwise.

As long as Price Chopper keeps offering this brand, I'll stick with it. If they change, then I'll have to go hunting again. :-)

Hi, paintswithwords. We started off using Scott Tissue with 1000 sheets. But, now we use, Scott Green Tissue. It has about 276 sheets to an roll. I have used Angel Soft last week. And we have even used toilet paper from the gas station too. I think that the best kind of toilet tissue for us would be, the Dollar General brand for $3.00. This tissue has 5000 sheets to it. Which I think is a really good bargain. Because if I was to buy the 1000 sheets from the Scott brand, it would cost almost $3.00 anyway... I will get more sheets for a lesser price..

We have been using Lambi toilet paper for a very long time with intervals of other cheaper and not so fine quality toilet paper when necessary.

We have a habit of following brochures and flyers for sales and will buy plenty then, so as NOT to have to result to buying cheaper quality types.

It is a 3ply quite soft type and with a pattern as well. The best I have found here in Sweden.

It depends whats on special offer. Its one of the few things that I dont buy the "super value" versions of. I usually go for Charmin' (which has embossed bears on it... I dont know if thats a reference to the rhetorical question "Does a bear sh!t in the woods?" or a soft-but-strong concept)Kleenex Kitten soft (tho' the idea of wiping your bum on a kitten really doesn't sound effective to me knowing how kittens jump out of your arms and roll round your carpets but...)or Andrex (the one made from puppies)
I remember that schools and public conveniences used to have Izal which was like tracing paper with zero absorbency. When I was on teaching practice a little girl drew me a picture on Izal. She gave it too me, looked down and shuffled her feet as she said "Sorry 'bout the paper miss but we didnt have no other paper at our 'ouse". It meant a lot to me that she'd taken the time and trouble to do that and I kept it for years (of course, that was back in the days before we cotton-woolled ourselves against germs)

We use Scott, not because it's nice and soft, but because it is bio-degradable and doesn't plug up the toilets. We've used other kinds over the years, but we turned to this when a colleague recommended it, and she was right. We have no problems any more.

Hi Paints. A number of years ago I discovered Quilton toilet rolls and haven't bought anything else since. Quilton, as its name suggests, is air-quilted, with a design stamped into the layers. The quilt design is either colourless or has a coloured outline in the centre layer. It is a 3 ply and VERY soft but has enough body to prevent the fingers from breaking through.

We prefer Quilton to other brands and I usually buy two x 9 roll packs when it is on special, which works out to less than 50 cents per roll.

for the most part we buy Quilted Northern Ultra Plush, 3 ply. It's soft, and that's what matters most for me. When we are having a tight month we will go to a cheaper brand but I usually end up complaining the whole time because I don't like what we had to buy. But we do make do.

As far as toilet paper is concerned, anything with 2 ply in it,I will use. Ususally the cheapest 2 ply that there is, I get.

I am really picky with the brand of toilet paper I use at home. I buy something called Sanicare. It is soft but strong, the way I want it. Also, I like my toilet paper to be three-ply.
