Barbie Dolls .....Sexy Look,,,,,, Is this doll for child or adult?  

You are right angela. Barbie dolls are so sexy. It was not designed for kids since there nothing in it that relates to babies. It even have boobs. And have very long legs. That in real life it looks more like a super model. I dont think babies are able to appreciate those things except the clothes. Now with the bikini wearing barbies? i really have my doubts if these toys are for kids. My little girl is practically begging me to buy her one.

You have a very valid point to make that Barbie dolls which are normally meant for children are now a days available in some revealing clothes and some dolls are made to look sexy. I think it is an adult who will buy it for his kids, so giving it a sexy look could be a market gimmick/tactic to attract a buyer. Many of us get attracted towards such dolls, which are in new or less outfits and get tempted to buy it for children. Manufacturers want to sell their products and they do not hesistate to give their product a look, which would 'attract' a user. It is for the user to see whether he wants to get entrapped in their marketing gimmicks.

You are wrong Angela, the Barbie doll is only for small girls, and for the young girls. My daughter had nearly 8 to 9 Barbies, in different costumes. She was mad about them, but slowly the interest faded, and when she was about 13 to 14 she lost interest. My son did not even like to touch those dolls. In fact it was only recently we found all those dolls which were under some unwanted things in the attic.The same kind of provocative dresses were used even about 10 year ago.

i like barbie dolls so much, even when i was an adult, i use to buy barbie every month when i get my payout but after i have kids, all my collection barbie become their toys, now i likes to buy barbie for them to play but not to keep for myself, when i see them make the barbie hair until so messy, so angry and need to help the barbie comb again

There was a barbie doll created for Muslim girls, but this time around they look damn covered.

Hi... i don't think a doll being sexy or not has really any impact on a kid... i mean, they are indifferent to the sexiness of the dolls... anything beautiful (of course in their eyes, and it may even be a sexy doll) is supposed to attract them... they don't appreciate things the way we adults do... if it would be so, boy kids would be more attracted to those dolls than the girls, as by nature males are attracted towards the females... isn't it, sexyangela? but, in reality, things are opposite... someone here said, those are marketed to attract the adults to buy for their kids... sorry, but i differ here too... i think, a sexy doll may attract an adult only if it is really beautiful looking, but not because it looks sexy... a doll, whatever sexy looking it may be, is not supposed to create sexual arousal to any normal adult, if he/she meant an adult male... and why should it attract an adult woman? i think, kids are attracted towards barbie dolls, simply because those are beautiful to them... barbies are available with bikinis as well as with full clothes on... does anyone have any statistics that barbies with bikinis or with revealing clothes sell more than those with covered clothes? I think, kids are rather more attracted to the ones with more and colourful clothes... then, why those with bikinis are marketed? because, women with bikinis are seen in the real life too... and, those are manufactured with sexy figures (in adults' eyes) because that is what now the trend is... that's how a woman likes to feel herself to be, and a man likes to see a woman to be... and i think, barbie is successful in their marketing strategy... the proof is simply that the kids are so crazy for them...

hello there! interesting topic! anyway, i still consider these lovely cuties toys for younger kids..not really for babies because of these toys' small accessories that could be hazardous for babies. sometimes though, the get up of these dolls are too much for younger children...

can i say that i am lucky that my little girl does not like barbie dolls?

my today 9 year old girl hate barbie, she was given a barbie doll by a father of her playmate when he came home from working abroad, today, that barbie doll just sit on the cabinet, and was not enjoyed by my daughter since she does not like barbie. even in her DS, there is a barbie game there she does not like it either, i played it instead hehehehehe..... she prefers books and her DS...

barbie dolls are expensive, including the accessories. it can be a good doll for adult who are fixated with dolls, they can change its looks everytime they want, since it comes with a variations of accessories it make it look different.

my daughter simply dont like it. that's all. and that God for that, really!
