Kobe Bryant is the 15th player in the NBA to score at least 25000 points.  

Apart from being the 15th player to score at least 25000 points, Bryant had the distinction of being the youngest to do such feat. On the contrary, LeBron James had a big game which led the Cavaliers to beat the Lakers. James on the other hand is groomed to be the one to break Bryant's milestones. So far, James is the youngest player to score at least 1000 points all the way to 14000 points (each of thousandth increment) which most was previously held by Bryant.

When asked about Kobe being the youngest to 25,000 points, Phil Jackson didn't put too much relevance to that saying that players come in at different ages.

Indeed. Lucky for Bryant and James that they entered the NBA at a very young age. But that's a big thing for them. Their names will be in record books and they will be remembered.

That's the challenge for Kobe Bryant now. Not only does he need to stay healthy for a number of seasons more, he's got to play at a very high level even at the age of 35 or more. The top scorers in the NBA of all time have played great basketball even at an older age. Bryant is still about 13,000 points less than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record of 38,387 total career points. It's so achievable though if Bryant stays healthy for the rest of his career and plays at a very high and competitive level. At the end of the 2009-2010 season, I'm optimistic that Bryant could surpass Miller and English and if he stays healthy and sharp for the 2010-2011 season, he could get past Havlicek, Wilkins, Robertson, Olajuwon, and probably Hayes and Moses Malone. Bryant's got a great future ahead of him in terms of getting to the top of the all-time scoring list.
