So How much do You Know About Coffee? |
| |
| I have been reading about coffee lately. I found a few interestign facts as wel las perceptions. Legend has it that coffee was actually discovered quite accidentally when shepherds found their goats becomes 'frisky' and started dancing after eating a quantity of coffee berries. Then, some African tribes mixed it with fats to produce energy balls. They felt energised when they eat these balls. The habit of drinking coffee apparently has close association with the rise of Islam. As alcohol is taboo to Muslims, coffee become the natural alternative. Do you know that 70% of drinkers consumes Arabica coffee while 30% loves the bitter-tasting Robusta which has 50% more caffeine? Do you know that coffee houses were at one time banned? Yes, the King of England banned them as he suspected they were places where people sat down to conspire against him.? Another fact-Today coffee is most traded commodity after oil. Can you believe that George Washington invented instant coffee? No, not the president. This is a Belgian person. Want to know how coffee is process? First, the berries are picked, dried and stripped down until only the bean is left. They are then roasted up to 500 degree Fahrenheit. After a few minutes the bean will pop once and doubled its size. There is then a second pop. The bean is now ready is to be grounded and brew for consumption. Happy Coffee-drinking! | | | | | |

| | Nie to know, good piece of information! I have a few things that I know about coffee: >it can clean teeth (which is weird, as it's known to stain teeth; I saw this in a newspaper), and >drinking iced coffee can actually make you feel full, thus help you eat less and lose weight (I've read this in a Yahoo! article) I'm not in to coffee much, though. I prefer hot chocolate. | | | | | | |

| | This is news to me that coffee can actually clean teeth. Everyone knows that coffee stains teeth. If it is known to stain teeth, we can prevent by washing and rinse our mouth immediately after drinking coffee. You can try drinking a mixture of coffee and tea. It tastes good. | | | |

| | Yes I read somewhere sometime ago that not American President George Washington invented instant coffee. Lately it was discovered that coffee contains antioxidants as advertised by Nescafe. So by drinking coffee is good for you.During the Boston Tea Party when the early settlers in the New World dumped their tea into the sea. They switched to drinking coffee. I learnt that during my Form Three History lessons. That was four scores ago. | | | | | | |
