They have FLUFFY BALLS, Why???

Fluffy TENNIS balls? LOL That's not what I thought about when you said "fluffy balls." As for the reason why tennis balls are fluffy, maybe it's so they don't hurt so hard when you get hit in the head with one. Could you imagine being hit in the head with a golf ball? LOL Maybe they should be fluffy too. LOL

I would also say they are FUZZY more than FLUFFY. fluffy makes me think of santa claus beards and huge clouds.

I don't know why they are fuzzy... maybe nicer to touch... maybe bounces better... maybe prettier to look at... hahaha.

Why are tennis balls fuzzy?

Answer: Helps to have better racket control when the ball is hit.

The fuzz slows down the ball in flight, keeps it from bouncing too high, and lets
the racket get a better "grip" on it. A perfectly smooth ball would travel so fast
and bounce so high that the game would be unplayable. Also, with a smooth
ball, it would be much more difficult for the player to control the direction of

Maybe its something to do with the bounce (I've moved on from your mate to tennis now BTW) Tennis balls are bounced on the ground more often than those in the other sports you mention??

Does the fluff go away as they get hit more, or do they get fluffier? I think either one would make sense to me, but it would depend on how they are made.
