Portrait of a Narcissist   email this discussion to a friend?

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691) 3 years ago

Before the election I posted a discussion claiming that 0bama was a raging narcissist and so far everything the man does proves my assertion correct. He can't even give a speech without referring to himself more than any other president. In last night's speech he referred to himself 161 times.

It is clear he is only thinking of himself and his agenda.

In fact, if you look back at my pre election discussions, you can see that I was right about everything; 0bama is the most incompetent, narcissistic, divisive, partisan and left wing president we've ever had. We are in much worse shape today than we were a year ago and 0bama shows no sign of heeding the will of the people because, like all progressives, he feels he knows best and we'll eventually thank him.

He is an unmitigated disaster and I warned you all. But since you dismissed my warnings and chased me around mylot calling me a racist, I don't feel sorry for you. You are getting exactly what you asked for. Enjoy it.

Talk about racist, did you hear Chris Matthews' comments? If he were a conservative or from the south he'd be looking for another job and would be untouchable! He said "You know, I forgot he was black tonight for an hour." Although he was referring to how good he thought the speech was and how absorbed he became in it, that is blatantly racist.

People call you a racist because you object to this prez's policies? Good to make your acquaintance!

I find the Prez's narcissism so alarming because nobody recognizes it--they just think he is confident and strong. They cannot see how dangerous this man is--my God, he countered Congress' refusal to start a commission by saying he'll sign an executive order. So now Congress no longer matter, Obama will do what he wants.

I was worried when I heard who the people elected and now I'm alarmed.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

OH MY GOD. Matthews actually said that????? Are you serious?

I've always said that liberals are the worst kind of racists because they engage in condescension and Matthews comments are blatantly condescending. Will any black people call him out? I doubt it.

I need to correct something: 0bama referred to himself 114 times; not 161. I was pulling from another speech where he referred to himself 161 times.

Scott Brown's election will cause the Democrats to mutiny because more than anything else self preservation is the order of the day. 0bama isn't going to accomplish anything now because his own party will turn on him. I even doubt he'll get his party's nomination in 2012.

Yep, he said it. I heard the recording, saw the video and read the quote in context.

It's a tragedy that Obama has that personality disorder. He could do so much good, and yet as long as it's all about him the country will decline lower and lower as will our standard of living. Stock your pantries and get ready for a long, hard 3 more years and beyond. sad

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

I went and found the video...the sad thing is he really thought it was being complimentary.

Did you ever see the video of Barbara Boxer talking down to Henry Alford?

Yes, I saw that and was ashamed for her. Good for him for standing up to her with dignity, which is a quality so few of our officials have these days!

I had thought racism was pretty much a thing of the past until Mr. Obama ran for president. Then I saw that is was here, stronger than ever and the racists of all colors were even more arrogant and self-righteous than before.

I've found that the more vehement the denial, the greater the guilt. At least when it comes to politicians.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

All 0bama did was reveal the racism of the left; it did nothing to alleviate racism in this country, which, while will never be wiped out, is greatly diminished from the days of Jim Crow laws.

Here's a great article about the SOTU speech...:

sndcain36,
I was with you during Obama's campaign any one here at mylot that revealed who Obama really is was called every name in the book and racist was at the top.
I correct often one of the many lies Obama is not a black man due directly to his mother being a white women.
Obama used the black people for his voter base that is why he joined Jeremiah Wrights church them black people was Obama's first stepping stone to getting him elected into office.
They looked at Obama as their savior trusting man and not God,the results unemployment for inter city black people is 20%,Obama has put them on the government doles in slaveing them to government run programs.
As well all the poor of the country government enslavement, entitlements all paid for off the hard working tax payers backs.
Obama and his anti-American pals like Eric Holder has set our country back many year's,we are in more danger in one year under Obama then any time after September 11,2001.
George W.Bush may not had been a perfect president but he dam sure was not anti-American and the security of our country was always first place in him and his administrations hearts after we was attacked on our soil.
We the American people did not have to wonder where George W.Bush's heart loyalties laid but to we knew George W.Bush was a American citizen.
Obama speech last night was disgusting and it has not set well with the American people that are not left wing anti-Americans.
Obama supporters many deeply regret they voted for Obama to late for regret they let the fox in our hen house and it is dripping with open corruption twenty-four seven.
I have personally talked to democrats who have left the democrat party in shame, some in the party 40 years they have left the party in disgust this pass year.
Our country has been set back year's and we are in grave danger,we that understand who Obama and Eric Holder really are knows it is only a matter of time before a whole lot of shopping or dining Americans will be blow all the way to kingdom come along with their little children.
My heart goes out to the innocent little children but to save them will be impossible and it will be a very sad day for our country but trust it is not far away.

It's getting to be impossible for 0bama to hide who he is anymore. He is losing control of the message and he's plainly not smart enough to fool the country for very long.

It took Bush 7 years to make the country hate him as much as it hates 0bama after merely one year.

You and I have both had exactly the same opinion of Obama since his pre-election days and he has certainly proven that we were correct. Last nights speech had the same effect on me as his election promises.....empty words from a lying president. I will be watching closely to see if again...He talks the talk but can he walk the walk??? So far he has not.
The only thing I agreed with was calling out the Supreme Court on their latest crap which sells out our Election System. I though Obama was being rather hypocritical as his own campaign donation were very "iffy" and under scrutiny because they were anonymous.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

I'm not sure how I feel about the SCOTUS decision. I'm big on free speech but the ruling is a double edged sword. But ultimately it's not going to change the way DC works and it's more important to protect Free Speech than to strike an imaginary victory against corruption. Politicians were for sale before the decision and that's not going to change....

...Hi there sndcain36, I certainly can't call you a racist, because for one thing
I don't think individuals can be called racist. Racism comes into play when institutions hinder people from, jobs, homes and services that they should be entitled to regardless of their race, color or creed. Institutions practice racism, individuals are prejudiced or bigoted, so you could not in my opinion be a racist. There are prejudices in the African-American community between people with different color skin, light skinned against darker skinned people. See Spike Lee's picture. I forget the name, perfect example. So let's put that nonsense aside. We can agree to disagree, but President Obama is, contrary to your feeling, one of the smartest presidents we have ever had. He is learning, and he will make mistakes but he loves this country and is trying to do everything he can to imoprove conditions. He was crazy to want this thankless job, but he got it. The Noble Peace prize commission recognized his ability, under one year in office and they gave him a seal of approval in essence. In order to lead, you have to give people somethimg to project on to, he speaks of himself because he wants people to believe they can do, believe as he does, it's a leadership quality. He is not divisive, he gave one of the greatest speeches at the Dems convention for John Kerry anyone had every heard, about one country, all of us together. The man has been trying to pull the Republicans along, while they want to destroy him with their "just say no" stand, so they do nothing and hurt the country in the process. He is anything but "left-wing", he is more conservative than his own base can stand. Listen to him, assess what he says. Be objective instead of having such animosity for the sake of having it. We are not worse off now than we were, his admiistration saved us from disaster, but because we did not go over the stock market which looks ahead, in nearing 11,000, that tells you something. Whether you want him to or not, this man will be a great president. Open your eyes and see the real deal. Also you must, must, have a powerful ego to do this crazy job, and he has everybody going against him, he has to have a strong sense of self or they would get the best of him. He boxed the Republicans in on Wednesday, they have the 41 votes they need to stop his agenda, he told them in essence, then the country is in their hands as well, now answer to the American people when they stand in the way of progress. Incompetent, take another look, I don't think so. But people see what they want to in order to fortify what they already want to believe, so
I don't hold much hope for you, but maybe you will surprise me "o). Take care.
By the way his name means "blessed", so have fun.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

I'm sorry, but an intelligent person doesn't need a teleprompter to speak to grade school children. 0bama has never struck me as intelligent. Cunning, egotistical, arrogant, but not intelligent.

His focus on himself is actually a sign of very poor leadership. Any good leader will tell you that that. He makes everything about himself and he actually comes across as selfish and petty. I didn't see a leader last night. I saw a petulant child scapgoating and lecturing.

That's just it: he's trying to "PULL" Republican's along. That's not leadership. If you're a good leader you don't have to drag people anywhere; they will WANT to follow you. And he's not listening to WE THE PEOPLE who have spoken loud and clear that we do not want his agenda. It's clear he doesn't care about the will of the people who elected him; he only cares about his own agenda.

Once again, divisive and poor leadership.

He is the most left wing president we've ever had. He has nationalized banking, the auto industry, and now he's looking at healthcare. If you understood socialism you'd understand what's happening. Currently the US ranks below Canada in the index of Economic Freedom. That's left wing.

I'm not the one who needs to open my eyes. You've said nothing that has any bearing on reality. Were you aware that the real unemployment rate is 17%? Right now 0bama's approval rating is the lowest of any president in this period of their administration; if the election was held tomorrow 0bama wouldn't get elected dog catcher. The country is NOT happy with him and that's not going to change. I doubt he'll even get his party's nomination for a second term, and even he's alluded to the fact that he's going to be a one term president, which is good because it will allow us to undo all the damage he's done.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

And the idea that people can't be racist: where ever did you get that idea? Institutional racism isn't the only kind of racism and actually comes out of individual racism.

According to the Princeton.edu website, racism is defined as "the prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races" My dislike of 0bama has nothing to do with his race but with his ideology and agenda. His skin color is immaterial to me. However, it is very important to the people who voted for him. In fact, many people voted for him because he was black and not because they understood what he stood for. And the fact that people think he's so intelligent; if we were a white man no one would think he was especially intelligent; the condescension of the left has blinded people into thinking he's intelligent in spite of being black, like his skin color is some handicap that he had to overcome.

If I were black that would piss me off.

...Sorry I didn't read your entire post, as I said, in essence, people see what they want to see to stay in the place they want to stay. Anyone who was President of the Harvard Law Review, no matter what you say or think, is incompetent. Give it up, you can try to make your own reality if you want. He's brillant! Let's see what the future brings. The real unemployment rate is 20%. They only sample amyway. You stay where you are, as the train moves on. "o) No problem.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

Based on 0bama's performance at Columbia he should have never been given entrance into Harvard. He never produced anything of merit while at Harvard but he had a whole lot of powerful, influential friends to get his where he wanted to go.

SndCain, it may be true that some African American people voted for Obama because he was black.

But I'd wager that an awful lot of White people voted AGAINST him because he was black as well.

I remember getting dispatches in my email from the KKK and the Confederate Pride Organization that accused Obama of being a Muslim and a non-American citizen before anyone else did, when he was not even president elect yet. I watched these charges when they were first leveled and witnessed them spread to the mainstream after being repeated, before anyone thought of them, by such racist organizations. I saw it happen.

Now all of the conservative are echoing the same claims that originated with those groups.

You may not be racist, but I would think long and hard about who I was getting my talking points from.

myLot reputation of 49/100. Destiny007 (4866)   ranked 647 out of 3,985 in politics  3 years ago

opalina... while your talking points obviously come from MoveON.org.

Funny.... as a Conservative who receives a lot of mailings, I never received any from the KKK or Confederate Pride (never heard of THEM).

I can guarantee you though, that a lot of white people voted FOR 0bumbler, and the only group that was making the election about race was his supporters.

I oppose him because he is a self-admitted Marxist and because of his ideaology and his hatred and disdain for America and everything we represent.

As more people see what he is about, the more his popularity plummets.

In other words, those of us who opposed 0sama0bama were right, and a lot of people are now realizing their mistake.

So much for your idea of racism being behind the opposition of this lying basturd.

Islam and Communism are more similar than you'd think at first blush. Both demand total submission to the ruling powers and preach collectivism.

Well, he was raised Muslim and his mentor (Frank Marshall Davis) was a communist.

He has also stated that he gravitated to the Marxist philosophy and read everything he could on it... and picked his friends accordingly.

So yes, he is both.... and his policies reflect that.

Mussolini defines fascism as "the merger of corporate and government power"

There is also this...

Although the broadest descriptions of fascism may include every authoritarian state that has ever existed, most theorists see important distinctions to be made. Fascism in Italy arose in the 1920s as a mixture of syndicalist notions with an anti-materialisttheory of the state; the latter had already been linked to an extreme nationalism. Fascists accused parliamentary democracy of producing division and decline, and wished to renew the nation from decadence. They viewed the state as an organic entity in a positive light rather than as an institution designed to protect individual rights, or as one that should be held in check. Fascism universally dismissed the Marxist concept of "class struggle," replacing it instead with the concept of "class collaboration." Fascists embraced nationalism and mysticism, advancing ideals of strength and power.

Fascism is typified by totalitarian attempts to impose state control over all aspects of life: political, social, cultural, and economic, by way of a strong, single-party government for enacting laws and a strong, sometimes brutal militia or police force for enforcing them.[19] Fascism exalts the nation, state, or group of people as superior to the individuals composing it. Fascism uses explicit populist rhetoric; calls for a heroic mass effort to restore past greatness; and demands loyalty to a single leader, leading to a cult of personality and unquestioned obedience to orders (Führerprinzip). Fascism is also considered to be a form of collectivism.

You might want to read this....

http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc/Fascism.html ...

http://www.couplescompany... ...

In short... Fascism considers the government to be the ultimate answer to everything, and individuals and liberty are subject to the government's whim.

Sound Familiar?

0bama thinks he is the answer, and that more government control under his rule will solve all our ills.

hi destiny - you've been agoogling then. well done - doing research is a good thing. i am pretty sure however your figurehead is not a fascist, communist or muslim. more seriously and talking about your country in general, i think it has a snowball's chance in hell of becoming communist - don't worry, this one is not going to happen. fascism slightly more likely but still not something to be too concerned about just yet. there is a strong fundementalist religious movement in the us but although it has things in common with islam it is not islam. your country is a democracy, although i think it has strong elements of an ogliarchy and i would worry about this. google ogliarchy and you will see what i mean.

I know what an Oligarchy is... and Communism, Fascism, Socialism... they are all examples of Oligarchy. So you are not telling me anything new... it is called Big Government here in America, and us Conservatives are in opposition of anything like that.

As to your reservations about America becoming communist... well, that is why so many of us oppose 0bama, because the fundamental shift that he was talking about is communism.

That is the agenda that this self-admitted Marxist has been working on with his healthcare reform and his talk of Cap and Trade... and the rest of his agenda.

Here is a bit of news for you ...

America is not a democracy... and it never has been.

It is a Representative Republic by design.

The founders abhorred democracy as mob rule.

Christianity, which America was founded upon, has no aspects of Islam... and for you to make such a claim demonstrates your ignorance of the subject.

Islam is a Theocracy... a religion, culture, and government in one all encompassing package, whereas Christianity is not.

Christians do not perform honor killings, nor the rest of the pagan rituals that Islam demands.

The foundations of Christianity and Islam are completely different and bear no relationship to the other.

The office of president is much more than a figurehead... it is the Executive Branch of our government.... even though the present officeholder is a complete and utter moron who is sadly lacking in the skills that holding that office require.

He is not a leader and never has been. thumbdown

As to my research... it allowed my to effectively demonstrate that you were mistaken in your preconception of Fascism. lol

Show me where your statement was accurate... go ahead MATE... prove it!

Your ignorance of history and politics is appalling... are you trying to claim that 0bama is a conservative?

He is a self-admitted Marxist, and his policies are Fascist.

Some of the people who actually lived under those types of governments are warning about the dangers of 0bama and his policies.

You are the one demeaning the things that occurred to those people.

Nice attempt at a straw man argument though... however, is that the best you can do?

"do you think his opponent would have done better if the election results were different?"

I don't know much about "better," but I know that Obama is borrowing a heck of a lot of McCain's campaign talking points to run America. Things he said were bad ideas when McCain mentioned them are suddenly golden when Obama wants to implement them.

God, do you ever watch anything other than Fox news?

And where do you get these facts (if that's what they are) from?

One of the main things "I" object to - is all of the meetings going on 'behine closed doors, and if that doesn't smack of shady dealings - it sure seems to.

I've never in my almost 69 yrs., seen such a time when politicians are doing everything they can as fast as they can, before anyone even knows what they're up to - or consistantly doing what THEY WANT, instead of yeilding to their constituants. It's just abhorrant!!

Actually, unemployment is at 10% and RISING. It is at a 26 year HIGH. The true figures are at about 17%.

The unemployment figures that are being released are for those people newly unemployed, and do not include those who were already unemployed.

All those figures mean is that less people lost their jobs than has been the case.

Comrade 0bowMao's policies are destroying the economy, not fixing it.

Whatever gains the economy is making is in spite of him, and definitely not a result of his policies.

Bush had it right when he same the economy was basically sound. The recent improvements prove that point, and have little to do with the temporary stimulus. If 0bumbo is not careful, these recent gains will vanish and the economy could go into another tailspin as a result of his failed and foolish policies.

You're absolutely right about him being a narcissist and it was very apparent during the campaign. It's even more obvious now, in every speech he makes. I believe his main concern has always been himself from the beginning. He is still high on the power of the office and he has no intention of listening to the people of this country or doing what the people want. He intends on furthering his agenda because he believes that no matter what the people want, he will do what he believes is "good for us", like a father doing what's best for his children. That's what the left believes, that the people are like children that can't take care of themselves, they need the government to take care of them and only the liberals under Obama's leadership know how to do that.

In fact, the policies of the left are going to wreck this country by crashing the economy. The government spending is at an unprecedented level. They just voted to increase the debt limit again and put us farther in the hole. Now Obama is calling for even more spending with another stimulus bill, trying to make it sound better by calling it a "jobs bill". In a couple of months, they will have to increase the debt limit again, then again a while later.

At some point very soon, they will have no other choice but to print more money, also at unprecedented levels, which will lead to unbelievable inflation and the devaluation of the dollar. Interest rates will then start to skyrocket. You think it was bad under Jimmy Carter? We're going to have the Carter years times 10. It may be so bad that it won't be recoverable. At that point the dollar will be worth nothing and the world money standard will move to some other currency, probably the Euro. Of course, if your goal is to move toward a one world government and money standard, this is a good way to do it. You wreck America's economy from within. When the dollar is worth nothing, we'll be forced to adopt some other currency and at the mercy of the "world economy".

A lot of people will read that and laugh. Maybe even call me a crackpot for believing that these things can happen. Make no mistake, if we keep going down the road Obama and the progressives have put us on, it's a very real possibility.
