The score has been settled at least in this world both Tiller and Scott Roeder's real judgment lays a head of them with God Almighty the holy judge of all judges.
Thousands of sleeping infants in their mothers wombs Tiller one way or the other murdered in cold blood.
He is dead and can not murder any more innocent little ones and that was Scott Roeder's intentions when he shot Tiller in cold blood in church on a Sunday morning last year.
Ironic Tiller ended the life of thousands of innocent sleeping babies in the womb,God say's "thou shall not kill" even so called Christians know this is one of God's commandments, could it be true we do reap what we sow in this life?you be the judge of that~

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - A man who said he killed prominent Kansas abortion provider Dr. George Tiller in order to save the lives of unborn children was convicted Friday of murder.

The jury deliberated for just 37 minutes before finding Scott Roeder, 51, of Kansas City, Mo., guilty of premeditated, first-degree murder in the May 31 shooting death.

He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years when he is sentenced March 9. Prosecutor Nola Foulston said she would pursue a so-called "Hard 50" sentence, which would require Roeder to serve at least 50 years before he can be considered for parole.

What a relief after hearing of the possibility of a cold-blooded, premeditated murderer getting off with "voluntary manslaughter"! It's clear the jurors took their duty very seriously, thank God, and it sure didn't take them long to come back with their verdict, the ONLY verdict they could have come to. I sure hope there's NO chance this man will ever be free again.

What a terrible message could have been sent had this killer gotten off with a slap on the wrist. That would no doubt have put the lives of more doctors, who are doing something that IS legal in this country, not to mention totally innocent clinic and office workers and innocent by-standers even in a CHURCH in worse danger.

The judge in this case had said from the beginning the trial was not going to be about abortion. I respect that immensely because it was about one thing and one thing only - cold-blooded murder.

The law of the land is the law of the land - in whichever country you find yourself.

It applies to all the citizenry there, whether they like it or not.

If this Tiller character had broken the law, then there were law enforcement officials who should have taken him into custody, and he should have been tried in a court of law.

If found guilty, then his murders would have been exposed for what they were, and he would have served the appropriate sentence. If found not guilty, then we would have to assume that he was, in the eyes of the law, not guilty.

If he had broken the law, but law enforcement officials did not choose to arrest him, then citizens should have taken it upon themselves to apply pressure until law enforcement did its job.

The one thing that cannot be allowed to come into play is that vigilantes decide for themselves what the law should be (whether it is or not), and apply justice themselves outside the existing justice system. If they are allowed to do so, then other vigilantes, holding alternative views, may come along and apply their version of justice.

After that, there would be no law and order to apply. The axiom of being equal before the law would simply no longer apply, and chaos would become the order of the day.

"Thou shalt not kill" applies to everyone. How about "Judge not, lest ye be judged"? That man took it on himself to become judge and jury and executioner. It was wrong.

It did a lot of damage to those of us who think abortion is wrong and now we're looked on as a bunch of murderous crazies. Every person that bombs an abortion clinic, murders an abortion provider or stands on a street corner and rants about how everyone there is going to hell makes us look bad.

This man could have taken advantage of the changing public opinion and campaigned to change the law. He could have offered to support one of the children a woman would have killed. He could have done a number of constructive things to further the cause of saving these children but instead chose to break the law and set that cause back for years.

I have no sympathy for him and applaud the jury for their verdict. Perhaps he'll use his prison time to work more constructively to save these babies.

Dragon54u, I have to tell you, I wish I could give you a BR for this post! I'm pro-choice but I can assure you I'm at least one person who doesn't think everyone who doesn't feel that is is crazy or murderous! I know thank God people like Roeder are in the minority.

BUT it was not up to Roeder to judge the doctor, God will handle that.

myLot reputation of 22/100. kennyrose (5047)  3 years ago

laglen,
Biblical we are to defend what God say's and what he has already judged.
When we defend what God has clearly said this is not in any way judging, the matter has been judged by God Almighty.
(1) Thou shall not kill ~ female's know soon after conception they have become pregnant with a human life,to end that human life in the mothers womb is taking a human life, any way a person wants to cut it the fact remains disturbing the human life in the womb leading to ending the human life, this is killing, and killing is murder~ God clearly say's "Thou SHALL NOT KILL".

Same with homosexuality God clearly say's it is an abomination in his eye's,God had clearly judged this matter long ago.
When a person denounces homosexuality and dose not condone homosexually they are not judging the person but reaffirming what God has judged,it is an abomination in the eye's of God.

What the murderer of Tiller did was morally wrong, just as what Tiller has done in this world is morally wrong,"God say's thou shall not kill" they both are guilty in the eye's of God of murder.

Oh I agree with you Rose, but in order to achieve a civilized world, we should have laws and abide by them. This goes for both people. I could back this by a thousand cliches and scripture. Let me close with - judge not..... and My God is a Mighty God.

I agree with the other commenters - this scumbag Roeder is nothing more than a terrorist, and he's got what he deserved (short of the death penalty, which I don't agree with). It's nice to read about a judge taking an appropriately hard line against this murderer. I hope he does the full fifty years and then drops dead of old age on the day he's released.
