What makes this game popular "World Of Warcraft" ?

This is one the most popular games in the world in Europe, UK and US but I don't think if it is available in asian countries. I already played this game in a Private server and I found this is a very nice game including the graphics the strategy and the story of the and I thought this what makes this game very popular. If you are familiar with DOTA it is the extension of this game where in there lot of competitions are held in our countries seeking for the best team to play this game and be the one to join the international competition. I just wanna ask your opinion about this game my friends what do you think makes this site popular?

Yes, I played it also the World Of Warcraft. I think it is the best to compete online game, it measure your competitiveness on how good your skills & strategy in winning the game. Also your opponent is from different part of the world, you don't know what they're thinking & strategy unlike you are playing AI or bots.
