What commandments would you want in the one true universal religion?  

Hi GardenGerty! I see that we much agree on what commandments a "universal religion" should contain. I agree that there should be only one God, if there are more than one God then division would ensue and the same problems and confusion we face today would result. There has to be only one God!

If Islam was meant to unite mankind, it seems that it not working. For Islam itself is divided, Sunni, Shia, ect.

You make a gravity mistake when you say that Islam itself is divided, Islam is not divided but people divided themselves into sects against the teachings of Islam.

[006:159] As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, thou hast no part in them in the least: their affair is with God: He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did.

If Islam indeed a Universal Religion why are not everyone gravitating towards it, naturally? Why the very presence of it since 688AD-it is almost 1400 years now, why it has not become Universal? Why is it that even after its coming Christians are in greater numbers?

I agree with the nice views of Gordano.We do not have to create a universal religion for us as it is already existing as ISLAM since Adam and was supported by all the Prophets of God.It will also be supported by Jesus on his second coming.

May be he means ONE GOD but without a particular name to the God. The emphasis on names must go, for something to be Universal.

We need one religion so that mankind can be united. Multiple religions won't work. Doing good to all is a good one.

Exactly, GADHISUNU, as what might be good for one person might be very bad for another. That is why people need the freedom to choose for themselves when and where and how they wish to worship without being subjected to someone else's interpretation of what is good. Whenever human beings try to put themselves in between other people and their religion/s, that breeds tyranny and corruption. By its very definition, peace requires liberty.

Good would be obeying the commandments.

The first number is one, the first God is one and God would have male and female qualities and be neither male nor female but so much more.

Hi KHANRABIULLAH! Thanks for your comment. I respect freedom of religion and the right of every human to choose whom they will view as God. As far as I can see, there is one true God that created us and then there are many gods that we created. I will serve and obey the God that is revealed in the Holy Bible.

i am not telling you that you only believe in our holy book quran but please see all the religion holy books and compare then you will get the truth. you know what god had creatd us by combination of
soul+body+life
and animals and plants with combination of
body+life
due to this god told that no animals and plants give me account but only man and genies will give me account on the day of judgement(qyamat)of complete life divided in three parts:
childhood+youth+oldness
you know about the day of judgement if your answer is no then i will tell you some short things:
1 day of judgement is very long as compare to our normal days it is about 50,000 years of normal days.
at the day of judgement all tha land of earth is completelly converts into metal and sun will on our head with the distance of 1.5 miles. now compare that the sun is now away from our earth with the distance of many crore kilmeteres and imagine what will be our condition at that time.
at that day all the people from origin of whole world till the end of whole world will be awaked by the order of the god of all universe "almighty allah" and they have to be prepare to give the accounts of their complete life.
all the peoples are without any dress on their body but no one will be having time to see each other so they are struggling for going in heaven.
very firstlly all the peoples are sticked on their places and they are unable to move until they answer three questions asked from the god of universe "almighty allah". they are :
1. where you spend your childhood?
2. where you spend your youth?
3. where you spend your old age?
by answering this questions all are free to move for further process.
another important thing is that we are having the hieght of 180 feet and heart of 45 Kgs to see the god of all universes and our thinking capacity will be increased to 100%.
(note: no one can answer wrong in front of almighty allah as they know everything and they are in very bad mood on that day.)

Ravenladyj, in our new world, parents would be good and deserve love because they would love their children.

Commandments are made to guide us but if we live the commandments then there is no need for commandments.
