Yes, large events have lots of giveaways. I have not done a lot of events lately. We went to the Chestnut Festival in October, got recipes and food. Our state fair usually has that kind of giveaways, bags, and samples, etc. I hope to go to a garden show in February or March, and I will have a great time there.

That's quite a collection you have there. It is also obvious that the tennis circuit sponsors are generous still considering the challenging times today and I am just happy for you that you have enjoyed yourself.

Did you manage to watch the finals live or telecast? I must say the Men's final between Federer and Murray was exciting right to the finish. Not forgetting your idol Serena winning the Women's final, too.

Afraid not they don´t give things away that easily here. At least not that I´m aware of. If they were giving things away at an event it would have to be international I would say. Not even at Football events. I hate to say it like that but it´s usually if it´s free you have to call a 902 number which is not free to get your free downloads which are not free either.
However at local fiestas they do make a "free" meal for everyone that gets there on time but if you think about it really that is not free either because you have paid for it or other people have paid for it.
Good for them that give those free things away but at the moment that is not the way things are usually done where I live.

In 2008 at the Boxing Day test we got some Milo show bags which we took home and gave to the kids. They had pencils and a colouring book, cant really remember what else. No where near as good as your BOOTY!

So, you had a good time picking up booties. Lucky you. We, in Malaysia have not had any international championships held here. Not even the friendly demonstration kind. I am sure you had the fun of your life watching the William sisters and the Eastern bloc girls.

Hi hiccup. When I used to work in a cosmetic manufacturing company, and we had events, including international ones, all our gift bags, or booty as you call it where filled with cosmetics(of course). Most of the time it is filled with the more expensive creams and fragrances. To promote the products was only part of the reason why our booty were filled with expensive items, it was also because these expensive ones were hard to sell. And it was easier to dispose of them through giveaways.

Occasionally at the minor league baseball games in our town they will have fan giveaways. What they are really differs, but there have been bobbleheads, baseball cards, t-shirt jerseys, collectors soda cans, etc. It is neat when they have these kind of giveaways because many of the things that they will give away are things that can become collectible given time. My favorite thing that I've ever gotten from a sports event was a bobblehead figure of a local baseball player that has been in the major league for a few years. What makes it the most meaningful to me is that I went to school with him.
