Are you scared to go to dirty hotels? |

| Are you scared to go to dirty hotels? After watching a news clip on how dirty hotels really are, it makes me wonder about the cleanliness of them. I know I don't want to use a showerhead with germs, or a sink that hasn't been sanitized. What about the bed sheets? The news clip showed experts then going through a hotel with a black light, where one could see the dirt left behind. I just feel hotels need to step it up with cleanliness a tad, even if some hotels do take care of the cleanliness. I am not a germaphobe, but to me it is gross. | | | | | |

| | well the rooms not being immaculate wouldn't bother me - unless they were particularly gross - but i might be rather wary of eating in their restaurants. | | | | | | |

| | I am keen on traveling in different countries. I traveled to the Seychelles with my ex-boyfriend. He didn't feel comfortable staying at the guest house on Praslin. I admit it did look a bit dirty and there were insects in the bathroom. I got into bed and had the insect net over me. He wouldn't go to bed and he went for a walk that night. In the morning we moved to move expensive but clean and tidy accommodation. By the end of our trip we were running out of money. Years ago I visited Sumatra in Indonesia. I went to a guest house and the room had a door like a stable. I sat down on one of the two beds and saw a note on the wall from another traveler. It said 'Do not sleep here. These beds have bed bugs and flees. So check out now". That made me feel scared. I told the manager and he moved me into a triple room. I had plastic bags on the floor and something ran across them. It was mice or rats I think. Needless to say I found different accommodation in the morning. I asked other travelers to a recommendation. I like to stay in a clean room in a friendly guest house. I usually stay in locally owned guest houses or unusual accommodation. I have stayed in a tree house in Belize and a thatched beach hut in Mexico. | | | | | | |

| | Yes, I am. And I have a terrible experience about it! Last summer we want to Mount Roushmore,we came with a friend who already been traveled there once and he told us no need to book a hotel before we go there, even I insist my husband do that, he just didn't listen to me, just fellow his friend. Unfortunately, they have some motor competion, so every hotels were full, we foun one need $199 a night, but they said it's too expernsive, so we just drive around to find a cheap one! And we found a cheap one, but the room is so very dirty, I don't want live there, but they want save money, so I sleep in that room with my cloth on, and didn't take a bath, because the washroom seems very dirty too! And I promise myself, I will never travel with them again, and I will book a hotel before I travel! | | | | | | |

| | Well I don't know if you are a member of Trip Advisor, but they publish a list of the most disgusting hotels in the world, continent by continent, So with this you know the places to avoid. I would normally expect a minimum standard of cleanliness (and for that matter security) before I would choose to stay anywhere, but, that said, I have stayed in some real tips in my time. Often because they were the only affordable places available. | | | | | | |

| | Absolutely not. I am not a germaphobe. In fact, I think people should let themselves get exposed to some germs. How else will our bodies learn to fight. I present my bodies defense mechanisms with all kinds of challenges. My body just keeps getting stronger and stronger. I'm never sick and refuse to take flu vaccines or any drugs. I take care of my sick family and friends and never catch anything. Just get plenty of fresh air, sunshine, green foods, water and let your body keep you well. | | | | | | |

| | I admit, I worked in two housing departments of an amusement park, the hotel for guests, and apartments and dorm apartments for the workers. No matter what anyone tells you, as a worker you must take your time and do it right. I don't mean you should work at a turtle's pace, but the management sets too high of a goal for its workers. I am a man, so I'll admit I am slower, but I also like to do it right. I cleaned places like I would like my place to be cleaned. I've seen my female coworkers working. They go very fast. But they miss parts, and in some cases, don't scrub hard enough. Another factor is that the employer wants the worker to have a certain number of rooms clean by a certain time. And to make matters worse, they are understaffed (and it's not necessarily because of lack of employ but rather because of "budget restraints".) So some workers might use the same rag and water for one or two rooms. One gentleman I know of used the same dirty rags over days and weeks! I see workers working hard for the average $10 an hour, but when it's about $7 an hour, then the effort is not as great. Most place I've frequented have new plastic cups in plastic wrap. And to shock you more, although the bedspread may be changed, the quilt isn't. After my experiences at the park and the moron who was head of the housing department, I'm wary of bedbugs. Now that's a story I can really tell you about. | | | | | | |

| | NO way. I would imagine bugs and dust mites crawling everywhere. Then you just don't know. That dirty hotel might also have some holes there that its dirty personnel have made so they can have a peek at you when you're changing or when you're in your most private act. No way that I would go to such a cheap and dirty hotel. | | | | | | |

| | I would if I cannot hold on anymore and there is no other go but if I have a choice I would never step in there. I dont think anyone would choose to go to dirty hotels unless for the reason that I have just mentioned. | | | | | | |
