We are not deny that China, today is one of the most powerful nation in the world. But we also noted that China, have a restrict rule in freedom most and don't like to accept any criticism in the outside world or coming from their citizen itself...
They are preventing people in accessing the internet and filter it to make sure no one will violate on the rule they impose on multimedia communication most especially the internet...
Now, China, ban google(I don't if the ban is lifted as I have written this) but my points here is the on going policy of china restriction the freedom of expression and freedom of the people doing something that is beyond knowledge and in information technology...
Do you think banning all those sites like google, facebook, and twitter is acceptable to the international community?

Whether it's acceptable to the international community is a moot point, it's their country and they set their own laws. But I can't imagine this is acceptable at all to the people of China. If anything, things like this only serve to further the anger of the opressed and stir them to further the cause of freedom. People eventualy get sick of being pushed and start to push back.

Chinese people is intelligent and smart. I think they don't like those things in their country but they can't do anything because their country is communist government and no freedom for them to complain or whatever they wanted to be in their life...
Their leader is practice old scheme of government and I think they suffocating in that particular law where government officials enforce strict on their free thinking on what they choose or what they don't like...

I'm a western (european) actually living in China. And yes, there are some limitations in the internet access. Anyway, sometimes the evil is not so ugly as it's painted. You should visit this country to see with your own eyes, before to espress your judgment, maybe you could be surprised, instead of talk just for "have heard about". Do you know, for example, that although is a communist country, there is the private property, and people are free to buy an house, a car or whatever they want?
About the internet limitations, in my country too (that is not a communist one for sure, due is Italy), government ban the access to lot of sites and informations. And in your country too (phills) you have not access to the whole WWW...
About the americans, is nice to see how the old but evergreen way to says of ancient romans, pecunia non olet (money doesn't smell), is well known there. The "red devil" is the first buyer of the US National Debt. In that case everyone there forget they are communists?
