Do you have to play your ipod that loud?  

it's bad thing , but i too listen to the max , no matter what ( i don't have an Ipod) my creative burn me , i volume it up only for not hearing others , if it's neccesary to be on max , so be it.

I agree with you! It's not that I don't love music but I just can't tolerate loud music especially in public places. I can't understand why these people need to subject others to the booming sound of their fave songs. Why can't they just use earphones? That way they're the only ones who'll get deaf and not everyone around them. The young ones doesn't seem to have respect anymore for other people's feelings and welfare as long as they're enjoying themselves.

I really try not to listen to my ipod very loud, as I know that it's not good for my hearing. Well, it's not good for anyone's hearing, come to think of it. My sister, on the other hand, will listen to her music very loudly. And like you, I don't really understand why it needs to be so loud. But sometimes, there are just those things that we may not always understand.

LOL If I had a dollar for every time I've had that conversation in this house. Have you had her hearing tested recently?

That drives me crazy too. I have really sensitive hearing, and when I listen to my own mp3 player, I don't have it turned up loudly at all. I'm also listening to very soft music, so there's no problem there either. Often i can't hear my own music because of the loud invasive music of someone else.

This is one of my pet peeves. It seems like everywhere that you go there are people that listen to their iPods way too loud. Now the issue that is coming into play with our family is the fact that my seven year old daughter got one for Christmas this year and I am constantly having to tell her that she needs to turn it down. She is so young and it doesn't make any sense why she already feels like it is necessary to ruin her hearing, but she does.
