The Power of the All Mighty Tea Infuser |
| |
| Hello mylot! I love tea! I like all kinds of tea, and all kinds of preparation for the perfect cup of tea! You can make white tea, green tea, herbal tea, black tea and red tea. I'm sure there are kinds of tea I don't even know about. There are all kinds of way to make tea, too, from microwaving hot water in the microwave, to participating in a traditional tea ceremoney with matcha. What I am interested in are the tea infusors, as my mom is all hyped up about them. I admit she has got me interested in tea infusors, too. Yet doesn't using a tea infusor usually require loose leaf tea? I don't have any loose leaf tea, but instead have plenty of tea in tea bags. Do you think tea is better with a tea infusor or even a tea press? I'd like to get one of each, and have an adult tea party (not throwing the tea into the ocean of course). How do you like your tea? A tea infuser is a device in which loose tea leaves are placed for brewing, usually in a cup; it is often called a teaball or tea maker, and sometimes a tea egg. The tea infuser gained popularity in first half the 19th century. By the time of Queen Victoria no respectable British household would be without one. Tea infusers enable one to easily brew fannings and broken leaf teas. A tea infuser performs the same function as a tea bag. Most tea infusers have spherical bags of tea in them when purchased. The infuser is generally a small mesh or perforated metal container or covered spoon that holds tea leaves, in varying sizes to brew single or multiple servings at once. Tea infusors placed in a cup or pot of hot or boiling water, allow the tea to brew without loose tea leaves spilling into the pot or cup. A rod or chain is commonly attached to the container of the infuser to make retrieval from the pot or cup easier. Infusers with large holes may not catch all the leaves, requiring the use of a tea strainer to remove the remaining pieces Cool, huh? I bet you didn't know all that about tea infusors! | | | | | |

| | I have never used one or heard of one. I don't like tea bags much because it has that wear taste to me. I use instant tea and prefer mine without lemon. I am kinda intrigued by your post and think I might look into a tea infuser. I do tho only like my tea cold unless I have a tummy ache or don't feel well then I like it warm with peppermint sticks or something stirred in. Have you ever heard of sun tea it is great my grandma use to make it, I miss it. I think I might learn how to make it and make some. | | | | | | |

| | My mom would also make sun tea in the summer, and this summer I will definitely ask her to make some! I love sun tea, too, and especially when it is cold in the hot weather. | | | |

| | I don't remember the taste I haven't had it in years. I mean like 10 or more. I think I am gonna try and make some this summer too that way I can taste it again and feel like a child back at grandmas. Wow does that bring back memories. I so miss the old days when things seemed so simple then you grow up and they aren't so simple anymore. Wow reality check huh? | | | |

| | I love tea especially when it is so dang cold outside. I used to have a tea ball around here someplace but I am not sure i I still have it. I think I will hunt around for it later. More than two cups of tea and I am running to the toilet all night though. I like a mild tea with a hint of almond or lemon. | | | | | | |

| | I have never had tea with almond but it sounds good. I don't care for lemon in my tea much but I do like my tea sweet. It has to be good and sweet to make it just right. I think I will go make me some and have some nice cold tea! | | | |

| | for most of my tea, it's from teabags, strongly brewed, no sugar and then just a dribble of milk. if I have a different tea, I put them into my teapot loose, and I have a wonderful tea strainer. it's hinged. so the strainer hooks onto the cup, with a flat dish hooking onto the side. I pour it, and then when I lift the strainer off, the hinge lets a little tray drop down from the side to beneath the strainer to catch drips. I adore my strainer. | | | | | | |
