Sarah Palin Mania takes over Daytona 500 mobbed by her supporters~  

Good question, jb! This trend of political idolizing is what led to Mr. Obama being elected and look how that turned out. The people practically worshiped him and not enough of them paid attention to what he was really saying. If Palin starts the same phenomenon, our troubles might be just starting. We need to be objective in elections and not act like a swarm of swooning teeny-boppers.

it is interesting that these two are both youngish, reasonable looking people. and even more intersting that what they are wearing is referred to so often - obama's suits and palin's outfits. odd sense of priorities some people seem to have.

actually she isn't a politician any more, she holds no public office. She is an activist and a news analyst.

In my opinion Sarah Palin is more in step with the everyday working American people,she is in step with core American principles and values this is what has made her very popular with the American people.
Sarah Palin supporters certainly are not Hollywood stars such as Barack Obama who holds the same slim ball values as Hollywood,because Sarah Palin's supporters are the every day hard working American people she is not a pop star.
I'm one of the millions and millions of Americans that honor a clear voice such as Sarah Palin in the corrupted government that we have,if your happy with this corrupted administration now in control but who will not be come Nov 2010 that is your right but I'm part of the 70% of the American people that are very angry over the direction the progressive liberal democrats has taken our country and thankful for good solid decent people like Sarah Palin.

Odd...she attended the drivers's meeting before the race, did a walkthrough, said a few words to the fans and apparently left for her next appearance.

So she wasn't there to actually watch the Daytona 500...she was simply using the Daytona 500 as a PR stunt. I can't think of anyone else in recent history who has done something that obvious.

Great question, jb! I'd say she'd like to be both but she's not capable of either. She knows nothing about policy or even our nation's history and she probably can't sing. She's an older version of Paris Hilton only without the depth and intellectual curiosity...lol!

There are always celebrities at the races...but all of the others that have attended have stayed to watch the actual event. Palin might secretly think that the folks who attended the Daytona 500 were dumb rednecks who didn't notice that she wasn't there, but I'm sure they did. I watched it on television...must have missed her pre-race remarks to the public since I didn't turn it on until racetime, but she certainly wasn't mentioned by any of the commentators during the race. I think that feeling it was necessary to describe her "sky-high black stiletto heels" only serves to make her look more like a celebrity than someone who should be taken seriously. Future presidents don't prance around in stilettos.

No, Annie, she's saying that 70% of the American people angry over the direction the progressive liberal democrats has taken our country. There's also a good portion of the country that's sick of both sides of the aisle in general. I did see somewhere that 71% of Americans don't believe that Palin is qualified to be president. I'm sure the numbers will increase as she continues to flit around the country.
