what is your favorite ancient mythology?  

I love also Hercules because of his masculinity, strength of power and the way he think. I also love, Hera is the goddess of women, marriage, and childbirth; the wife and sister of Zeus.She valued marriage as I do to my marriage life.

If its got to be mythology then it has to be Indian mythology for me. I just love reading those tales and of course as an Indian, I’ve grown up listening to them at home and reading about them at school. Like most ancient civilizations, India has a very rich collection of mythological tales and the most famous of them are the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Both these epics are interwoven into Indian life and society and they are well known and enacted even today, not only in India but in many parts of South-East Asia too. I like Mahabharata more because of its complexities and more non-religious themes…you too can look up these books and read them…they make wonderful reading.

I have a lot of favorites when it comes to mythology. This stories is like a treasure to me. It is full of magic and I'm really inspired by the characters that surrounds it. These are some that I could never forget.

Psyche: She is the most beautiful mortal
Cupid: fell in love with Psyche
Venus: Mother of cupid
I like the story of Zeus his wife and his mistresses.
Achilles and Hector and there love triangle between HELEN.
Athena's wisdom and Hercules visit to the underworld

I can't think anymore. It's just that Greek mythology is one of my favorites and I will forever be mesmerized by it.

I too love Greek mythology especially the story of Achilles (my namesake) the Greek hero. He was the best Greek warrior during the Trojan War. To make him immortal his nymph mother held him by his heels and dipped him in the river Styx. Due to this, his whole body had turned immortal except his heel.

I think the most studied mythology is the greek's. If you are really into it, you should watch out for the Clash of the Titans movie coming soon. It's a remake of the 1981 movie about perseus.

I love mythology myself and have for yrs...As for my favs I would have to say Native American, Japanese, Haitian and Greek just to name a few...Out of those I can't even narrow it down to one fav now that I think about it..

Hi Chanelgirl, I enjoy reading Greek, Roman and Chinese mythologies - since school days, I've been fascinated by the colorful personalities, their magical powers and the wonderful stories.

their deities were not just something to be worshiped when it was convenient...
they made their deities a part of their everyday lives

When I went to elementary school we heard a lot about norse mythology, and I loved listening to the stories. I don't remember the stories in details, but I still remember the most famous Gods like Odin, Thor or Freja. When I got older I started learning about other kinds of mythology especially Greek mythology and I found that interesting as well, but I know more about Norse mythology than Greek mythology. My husband is interested in Norse mythology, and he has books about the topic, I want to read them one day in order to learn about Norse mythology.
