Would you use paper plates or fancy dinnerware?  

Normally we use dishes. Paper plates are hard to cut things on. If I am just cooking hamburgers or sandwiches, then we will use the paper plates. I don't like plastic silverware, even if I use a paper plate I want a real fork.

we only use paper plates and plastic cups in campings or family picnic and sung but we use actual ceramic at home. . i have not heard of a family who uses disposable plates at home i mean its home.

Paper plates- for big family so i dont have to do the dishes lol

I DO NOT like to eat out of paper plates. The only time i would eat out of them if i was at a picnis , cookout or something in that order. I never use them at home. I love pretty dishes & i use them. It may be easier to toss paper but i'll stick to the real thing. I don't mind washing dishes anyway.

I prefer ceramic dnnerware. I agree with you that ceramic plates and glassware makes the meal a better experience. I don't mind washing dishing and right now I have a dishwasher so it a faster clean up. I leave the paperware to barbacues in the backyard and snacks at nighttime.

When DH and I were working, we always used paper plates and because our schedules were so different, we rarely had a meal together. Now that we're both retired, I enjoy having our evening meal together and I always use dinnerware. It's just as easy to pop our dinnerware into the dishwasher as it is to walk to the trash and throw the paper plates away. We're in the middle of selling our house and moving out of state but once we permanently land in our new house, I'm going to go a step further and use our fine china for our evening meal. Why save it for special occassions? We don't realize often enough that every minute that we get to spend with a loved one is a special occassion.

Truthfully for me it would depend on the meal. If it's just my hubby and I here at home I wouldn't mind using paper plates. Although paper plates cost money and I already have my dinner plates here that would just a few cents in soap to wash! lol We don't really use any fancy plates. Our mother's and grandmother's sometimes do at their houses for special dinners, but that is about it.

We eat of ceramic plates for dinner, we have a lovely dishwasher that just need to be filled and emptied when it is time for that. And we are just 2 poeple so once every 2 days the dishwasher is running.

I'm with you. My dinnerware isn't fancy at all, but I can wash it and use it many times. If I used paper or plastic plates, I would have to trow them after using them, so in the end I would be spending more money. Also normal dinnerware is more reliable.

I prefer glass dinnerware. Cos its easy to clean afterwards. I hate plastic or paper dinnerware as it is easily breakable. It is true that it is easily disposed off and thus you save the washing but at the same time you are increasing the garbage to dispose off. In my opinion, we are not being environment conscious when we buy disposable items.
