Your Last Hair Appointment!  

The lady I go to is really nice, and she NEVER takes off more then I ask! It is important to keep up with trims if you want to grow your hair out because split ends and unhealthy hair take longer to grow. The main thing is communication ... as long as you tell your hair stylist EXACTLY what you want he or she will abide by it ... after all that is what you are paying them for!

P.S. I have been having trouble uploading photos ... I tried adding a photo of me with my new hair doo with the discussion but it didn't work!

well i've been growing it for 20 years so i think its grown out by now! i do take 1/4 inch off the ends now and then though.

Everyone's hair is different I guess. While I was pregnant with Chloe from January till October my hair didn't grow at all, it was about between my chin and shoulders, it's like it was on pause or something, and now since I have had Chloe it's a little bit passed my shoulders. It grew about an inch inch and a half just since October! The lady that does my hair has never said anything about dying it while trying to grow it out but I don't know as I said everyone's hair is different!

I have really thick hair as well I get it thinned as well as lairs....

Lairs or Layers? I LOVE my layers, they definitely make it easier to manage without killing the length!

Ummmmmmm thanks very much for the kind words hun! I thought it turned out and I really like it! In the photo it's hard to see the purple, but in bright light (especially when I'm out in the sun) it shows up perfectly!

Oh wow! I would have bawled too I think if I had grown my hair that long and got that much taken off! I bet it was a tad of a shock! The hardest part for me from going long to short is going to shampoo and condition the next day in the shower ... you take WAY too much shampoo and when you go to put the huge amount in you all of a sudden notice that the "ponytail" at the back is gone!

I have tried just about every color imaginable because I went to Hair Styling College and was in the salon industry for a bit. I figured that because of my light complexion and my blue eyes that a contrast of black and blond and throw my favorite color in too (purple) would look really neat and I must say I'm pretty impressed!

Yes light complexion's with dark colors seem to suit. When I had black hair an old friend obsessed with cher told me I looked like her... I also looked very pale though so that's not good either I suppose.

I'd love to put a color like purple in my hair, I don't think I've ever done that besides at Halloween.

I too have dyed my hair that purplish redish color quite a few times! It is a very nice color! The only problem I find with reds and purples is that because they aren't "real natural" colors they don't last as long!

Long with auburn tints sounds really nice. My purple streaks aren't really really bright purple, but when the sunlight hits it a certain way you definitely notice it!

Sounds interesting! I like putting my hair up when I'm having one of those blah days and my hair is misbehaving! As long as you like it that's the main thing because your the one wearing the hair!

true, and I flunked fashionable, I would love to dye it all purple, but I hate it when it grows out so I doubt its happening!

Purple actually doesn't last a really long time because it's not a natural color! So it wouldn't grow out, it would be gone before that! Usually a stylist will mix the purple with another color so that when the purple washes out the other color stays in!

well, I wouldn't mind it going back to its "natural" color - since that's mostly white anyway!

That's more then likely what would happen then if you told your stylist what color you want it to be once all the purple washes out!

The only kind of coloring that MAY damage your hair would be bleaching (going blond) and honestly it is all iffy anyhow! First of all everyone's hair is different so it may damage it, but it may not! It also depends what kind of products you use regularly in your hair (shampoo, conditioner, gels, hairsprays, etc) The main reason I can do what I did to my hair and still have it undamaged is because I use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, I don't put a lot of crap or goop in my hair (no gel, hairspray, etc) and I give myself hair treatments once a week! Also I keep up with hair cuts to get the dead ends off so it will grow faster!

I wouldn't say I'm one hot momma, but I did put a pic of my new doo on my profile! It actually worked and showed up!
