They Get to Choose-A Heart Attack or High Bllod Pressure  

It is a hard situation, and I agree that most of the older people worked harder than any of us today can imagine.Then in the end they suffer.It is truly sad.When someone needs a medication to prevent stroke, heart attack,cancer,etc.then something needs to be done to ensure they receive the meds they need.I dont know what,but something.

We are definitely agreed on this one that something needs to be done. Medication is a NEED. Hopefully a solution will come about soon!

I doubt that will happen,but we can hope!

I am so sorry to hear of your dads situation. Drugs are expensive thats for sure.And I know a lot goes into making them,but if noone can afford to take them,what good is it doing?
Has he checked into those government programs to see if they can help him>

A person should not have to go into an "old age program" in order to receive the medications that they need. Even then someone has topay for it, and insurances,governement programs and the such only help so much.

oh really? then dont put those title in your topic then coz as far as i know i just answer your question huh. you should at least say if we agree your story than asking question like that. is it? or maybe you dont know that your asking a choices in your question huh. so next time dont put question in your title ok. and dont over reacted coz i didnt go out with the topic and whats your topic anyway? the topic of course is your question, you just share your story and so we did? this is just a sharing of idea site so dont take it personally. so i guess next time sorry to say this but at least put "guys did you agree with this or etc than ask a yes or not or a choice question." then maybe i will agree with your content and not to the main topic coz the title itself is the main topic and your story is the content.

and also one thing. i dont even see that your answering your main topic or the title of the topic. if you want your question to be answered then put it as your main topic rather than the choices question like heart attack or high blood pressure. did you also read your content of this topic? did it answer your title? or you just share the story you know about medicine and the old lady, you did not even mention about high blood and heart attack in your content. so whose answering what now. no offenses but as i said im just basing your title so better check your title carefully or check your content if it didnt go far away from the main topic since your the one whose sensitive enough to take responses here. and better be careful to use smiley as not all members took smiley positively. anyway, im just here to earn and practice my english coz if do then im afraid im havng a heart attack here so i did not take any response personally, if i do then i just explain my side why.

[OK for starters i try to come up with a catchy title to my discussions. The title of this one fits it just fine. You are not suppose to read a title and not read the discussion that follows it...this is what happens when you do.

Im not asking a choice...My title is simply stating that seniors often have to choose between one thing or another.No,I did not answe my title,noone but you did that.I didnt see it anywhere in the guidelines that my topics coulndt be in the form of a question, and if they were I needed to answer the question in my discussion.


I didnt mention it and thats why you shoule read the entire discussion before you post a reply to it.I do think that isin the guidelines however.

It seems that atleast here in America we have plenty of money for B.S. and not the important stuff such as this.You are so right,it should not happen to anyone, especially these pooe old people who have worked so hard all of their lives.Especially when insurance will pay for pills for addicts to abuse...Sad,sad world that we are living in.

I am sorry to hear your parents have experienced this too.It outrages me to see an old lady in tears because she cant buy a medication she so desperatley needs.Yet so many young people have it easy.Most of the time these older people have worked so hard 40 50 60 years and in the end have to suffer.How sad is that?Its not a bit fair.

Wow,you sound a bit harsh there. The thing is,not ALL medications are covered on these $4 and $8 plans.Perhaps it is an old lady who has no family to turn to.There are a lot of different situations you have to consider. There are only about 175 meds on those programs.And many more common meds doctors write.Astra Zenca makes you go through so many hurdles it is crazy.Plus thats not doing anything when she needs the meds now.I guess you have never had to go to a food pantry either.Those are limited,here 3 times in 6 months,and you get a couple cans of beans, corn, and things such as that.These government programs are BS.You just have to be familiar with them to understand.

We also have these type programs, vut they dont always hepl everyone.
No,there is no solution.Why how could our governemt and politicians possibly have time to worry about important issues like this when they have to worry about guns being allowed in bars and building new convention centers the city doesnt need?
