Acai berry is an herb and I believe that it is competely safe. I don't think that your friend needs to lose weight either. As women, we have such a poor self image. I don't think that I've ever met a woman who is completely happy with her body. It sounds like your friend has self esteem problems. Honestly, all that you can do is sit down and talk to her. I'm sure that I'm much older than you are and I struggled with self esteem issues for almost 50 years. I finally overcame them by first writing a list of things that I have to be grateful for every day and by clearly defining who I really wanted to be and then I set about turning myself into that person. Surprisingly, when I created that definition, I learned that very little of it had to do with appearance. Most of it was internal and that was something that I could change. I'm finally at peace with myself and comfortable in my own skin. I wish that I was 20 lbs thinner but I don't obsess over it any more.

Acai Berry is the fruit of a palm tree. It is used by indigenous peoples as a major part of their diet and, in fact, there are concerns that the recent big demand in the West for this product is endangering the diet and lifestyles of the people who depend on it for food.

Unfortunately, many people have a 'body image' which differs substantially from how others see them. For a female of 5' 11", the 'ideal weight' range is between 134 and 170 pounds, so she is definitely toward the lower end of her ideal weight. I suggest that you show her the Quackwatch page above and also the 'ideal weight' calculator. Tell her that taking Acai Berry supplements are likely to be a complete waste of money and suggest that, if she wants to spend money, it would be better to spend it on therapy to improve her self-perception of her body image!

At 5'11" and 138 lbs, I'd say she was skinny. That's about what I weigh, and I'm only 5'1"!
I guess she has one of those "fat" mirrors... as opposed to those who have "skinny" mirrors and end up dressing inappropriately...

Ive heard a lot of good things about Acai Berry and the successes with it. I personally have never tried it but close friends have. I think your friend doesnt require a diet for her weight possible she needs psychological help instead. I also think there should be a limit on the age when you purchase such products. Ive of so many younger generations dealing with this sort of problems and getting into loads of trouble.

The Acai Berry is a natural way of slimming and aids the bodies digestion to speed up..but to me your friend sounds like she is on the verge of bulmia...the only way she can be helped is through couselling but that is something she would need to 'want' to do-tell before taking the Acao Berry to seek medical advice about it, then the dr will be able to take over form there-hopefully- LoLo xoxo
