Do you think Uranium mining should begin in the Black Hills of South Dakota agai |
| |
| http://www.thepetitionsit... This is just very sad. Mining for uranium is very harmful to the people of South Dakota that live downstream from where they plan to mine. The groundwater will get polluted. There is a petition to try and stop the government from going forward with this plan. I feel that this is just wrong. | | | | | |

| | Uranium mining should be outlawed if you ask me. They wanted to open a mine here in Canada, in Sept-Iles in the Province of Quebec but the population got together and even the doctors joined in, threatening to go on strike.....well it worked !!! They've stopped plans for the mine. So its 1 for people, 0 for mine company.......for now at least. These people need to not give up and protest as much as they can. | | | | | | |

| | Since I believe nuclear power is a ticking time bomb, I don't believe we should have any of it. As far as I am aware there is no other contemporary use for it. | | | |

| | It's funny how some people will take the opposite stand on even a serious subject (referring to gewcew23, above). I know some people online that will stare you down over the smoking debate claiming that cigarettes can't kill. Hello! There's a mountain of evidence that proves it can and will kill, but there are some people who will disagree cause they're guilty. Awhile back I posted a comment on how I didn't like Walmart anymore cause they were guilty of stocking defective childrens jewelry that contained lead content and a person who worked for a packaging supply company (affiliate with Walmart) got offended and blasted me good time. The issue here in your discussion is the same. Of course, it's a bad thing to have this stuff in the water supply. It's totally scary. Thanks for sharing the link. I'll check it out. | | | |

| | Not a good idea. Not at all. I know Obama said he wanted more nuclear power plants in this country to decrease our dependence on foreign oil and energy...but this is not the way to do it. Not only will it be harmful for the people in the black hills and the surrounding area...but nuclear power plants can be just as dangerous. Obama needs to find another way to decrease our dependencey without harming people or the enviroment. | | | | | | |

| | Yes, I know. Why isn't the focus more on renewable energy such as wind and solar. I have never liked the idea of nuclear power plants. Every precaution in the world can be taken and something can still go wrong. One of the power companies in my state of Iowa is wanting to look into building a second one here. Plus they want their customers to pay for the feasibility study. | | | |
