What if you accidentally pour hot coffee on your laptop or desktop computer....  

well i had a similar thing happen once now i have never had anything like that happen since i got my laptop i try not to have any open drinks too close to it just to be on the safe side if i have a drink i try to make sure that drink has a lid on it.

However i did have a mishap with my old desktop computer i had a drink sitting on the computer table and i had to get up quickly to go do something i can't really remember what that was now, but the chair spun around fast and of course it hit the drink spilling it all over the computer keyboard.

Thankfully it didn't get over the computer itself, but the keyboard never worked the same after that there was always keys that would stick so last year we got my dad a new computer with a new keyboard and no one is supposed to have any drinks around it just in case as it can be a real disaster if that happens

lol! how sweet :)....... Don't worry! just pull out the power plug then remove the cover and use your hair dryer or wind blower to make it dry, if in case you don't have these things then blow it with your lips.I am sure that would be more enjoyment.....

if that happened then that would be the worst day specially if its a laptop. of course if i did then i will pull up my laptop and take off those water from it then turn it off so it will not spark and let it dry as soon as possible, thats why its also important to have hair blower so you can use it to dry your laptop as soon as possible before the water reach the surface.

Basicly, you just need to cut the power immediately and dry it by fan or sth.

However, I don't think something need to be done because at least you will be released from your jobs, works and so on if the computer is damaged.I hope that somebody pour a huge cup of hot coffee into my computer someday and did not tell me=)

I read a discussion about someone who did just that. First and most important of all, turn off the computer. (and, if its a laptop take out the battery.) Shake out the unit by turning it upside down over a sink or something. Take towls paper in nature, and whipe down the keyboard carefully.

Finally take a can of preasurized air to dry out the keyboard. It will clean out the keys and if caught fast enough, it'll save the keyboard from serious damage.

The steps for handling the situation:

1.) Shout loud, so that people near you know what has happened
2.) Switch of the thing, if possible remove battery immediately
3.) Invert the laptop, so that liquid doesn't seep in through the keypad
4.) Let it dry
5.) take a moist cloth and gently rub away the sticky. (Do this slow enough)
6.) PRAY and switch ON!

I am able to tell this because I had a hot tea on my notebook!

I actually did spill coffee on my computer last year
it5 totally fried my keyboard and I had to get a new one
thankfully the coffee didnt spill into the processor, I would have been totally screwed

Almost pour it on your laptop? Then that is good, I thought you actually made your laptop drink coffee. Anyway, if this will happen to me, I will surely send this laptop to the technical people where I got this. They know what to do about laptop and computers and I don't want to put additional injuries by fixing it by myself.
