| Attorney General: White House May Abandon KSM Civilian Trial  | | | |  Barack Obama has not been able to close Gitmo in his first year of office as he promised his supporters on the campaign trail.
The families of the 3,000 plus victim's of the Sept 11,2001 Islam terrorist attack in New York City did what any red blooded American would do when Obama announced that KSM's trail will be held in New York City they raised holy hell.
And so did a whole lot of other red blooded American citizens,the white house has announced they may have to abandon their plan to have MSM trial in New York City.
Most American's agree all these terrotist should be tried at Gitmo,What say you?

In an interview given yesterday to the Washington Post, Attorney General Eric Holder suggested that the White House might abandon giving Khalid Sheikh Mohammed a civilian trial entirely, though he insisted that it was not his personal preference to do so.

| |  Well if we were in good economic times...I could see New York MAYBE doing it as a civilian trial...but we are not in good economic times. We are in really bad economic times. The cost of added security alone would really hurt New York. They CAN NOT AFFORD the trial. They are having a hard enough time with their budgets without a HUGE profile trial.
Plus the American public is scared. They don't want the world attention and media on their city for a terror trial..it could cause more terrorist attacks. Would you want to be a juror in that trial? Make YOUR family a possible target? Heck No.
I don't blame them for not wanting to chance it. New York is already a target for the terrorist...why make it a bigger one.

| |  We have managed to prosecute hundreds in civilian courts why is this one any differen't. The Bush administration managed to accomplish this as hard as that is to beleive and NY needs to step up and do it's job. If we can't trust civilian courts to do this then the rest of the world cannot trust us either. Hiding behind the military is not standing up for freedom.
