What do you think about Alice in Wonderland? (Tim Burton)  |

|  I just watched the new movie Alice in Wonderland a couple of hours ago and I think the movie was great. Has anyone seen it? What do you think about the movie? Do you think there is a deeper meaning to Alice in Wonderland? Sometimes, I tend to think the the whole story of Alice in Wonderland has a double meaning to, to start with. It's confusing me, most especially the par wherein Alice mentioned this:
1. "There is a potion that would make you shrink"
2. "There is a cake that would make you big"
3. "Every animal can talk"
4. "Wonderland is real"
5. (something like) You can overcome a certain jabberwocky. Like you can kill it.
The sixth one, I forgot.
What do you think would those mean? I am frustrated. But good movie. Really good.

| |  I saw it last night with my officemates and my boyfriend. I loved the effects, the visuals, I loved Anne Hathaway, the red queen and Johnny Depp, I also loved Alice. The one thing I don't like was the story. I mean, the story of Alice in wonderland was okay, but the story of Alice outside was like, whaat?! I mean, it's confusing actually, and it's just really disappointing. But I still love it, cause I really loved the visuals, it's really entertaining, and once again, Johnny Depp, is being Johnny Depp.

| | Well try reading it off a children's book and you will get it. But nor really get the whole of it. Well, that's for me. It isn't actually a requirement that you have to know the story in order for you to watch the movie. Go watch it it's good :D | | | |

Hello paula. Just watched the movie earlier and for my personal critic I'd say that it's not so good but it's not that bad either ;)
What I loved about the movie was the combination of live action and animation, and the superb effects. :) The storyline in this movie is also good compared to the typical Alice's story wherein it's usually more like a series of events and adventures. This movie however made its unique "story" thus making it more beautiful. :)
The downside was that in my own opinion, the movie lacks the "twist" or effect I was expecting. :( Seems for me that it was quite risky for them doing a unique version. Yes it's better among Tim Burton's movies; but it's a not-so-good film adaptation of the original. If not for Anne Hathaway, I would be somewhat disappointed with this film. I love her role as the White Queen..she's both funny and cute in that role :)

| | Well I wasn't really that much disappointed with it. I find the whole war plot of it similar to the book I've read entitled Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor which is basically a different alice in wonderland story. Very different. But it has more wars and I like it. :D | | | |

| |  Yeah Alice's real life was kinda weird.The actor who plays Hamish is not only a Ranga but is kinda ugly.
As for that riddle thing you mentioned,think it was just something Alice says to boost her self confidence so that she can kill the damned Jabberwocky or something like that.
