Which one was a better representative for that generation? You couldn't really get more diametrically opposed crooners in that day. Sinatra with his quiet cool and Elvis with a show that was bigger then life. Both ran with their own "mafias" though and maybe it was the red state vs. blue state thing too, with Sinatra and Kennedy always together and Nixon and Elvis in that infamous meeting. Who do you think was better?

Aw, this is a hard question..

I mean, Sinatra was... a giant. Elvis was innovative.
I'd say Frank Sinatra, but it's probably because I like him more than Elvis. happy

I have to go with The King Of Rock and Roll Elvis. I remember that was the first record I ever owned. They kept showing it on tv and finally my Mom ordered it for me. I was 7 when Elvis died and to this day I still clearly remember that black hearse going down the street with his coffin and all the people standing on the street watching. I am still a die hard Elvis fan and love watching all those specials. I miss him a lot and wish he was still here. He died way to soon and very sad he got hooked on pills. He was a kind and generous man. I look forward to hearing him sing with the angels in Heaven. I may have never been old enough to see him in Vegas but I think this show will make up for it.

Hiya alexia.

I relate more to Elvis Presley although I did like Frank Sinatra too but Elvis Presley was much better liked by me and more other Fans too. It has to be Elvis first and second very close Frank Sinatra.
I have many memories of Elvis Presleys songs from before I still sing them every so often.
I am sorry he ended up that way also he could have still given one or two or more of those other singers a run for their money he was just the King then and still is.

Hello,Alexia. They were both great singers, and I don't think you could say one was better, as they were both so different. I love listening to both of them, but if I had to choose one over the other, it would be Elvis. I can listen to Elvis any time, but I have to be in the mood for Sinatra.

Talk about a tough question for sure. I am a fan of the music of both of these men and they have both done great work. They are truly huge parts of the history of music with tons of great music and they contributed quite a bit. This is quite the choice to be sure, as both are so great in different ways and you cannot really discount the contributions to the music industry of either.

With their great contributions in mind, who is better? I am going to have to give the nod ever so slightly to Elvis. Even after his death(of course, that is a subject of great debate in itself, but let's not go there right now), Elvis's influence has been felt. Frank Sinatra's too as well, but Elvis just seems to be far more influencing. Still Elvis is the king and I'm going to have to give him the edge in this battle.
