What would you do if you were President Obama? |
| |
| In the beginning of his term, journalists discovered that Obama received millions of dollars from Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, the native country of the Al Quaida terrorists who prepretrated Sept. 11th. They begin to ask if Obama is a Manchurian Candidate manulated by foreign powers. How do you think he can be re-elected? By invading another country like President Bush? By taking the US Army out of Afganistan and Iraq? What would you advise him to do? | | | | | |

| | I would stop and see what the American people want. I would stop these unethical foreign ties. Will he get re-elected? I highly doubt that unless some serious changes happen. Chances are the majority of democrats are not re-elected. Then things start to change an din two years Obama will take credit. | | | | | | |

| | obama personally received millions of dollars from saudi did he? wow. and i am not totally sure that a country, and any terrorists coming from that country are the same thing. if so that means my country, your country and indeed most countries are terroristic since most have produced violent extremists who think a good way to make their point is killing innocents. as for advice for obama - well some people are going to hate him no matter what he does or does not do. i'd certainly advise him to get the us army out of afghanistan - there is no point to it being there and it just means more and more us soldiers will die. whether or not that would get him re=elected i have absolutely no idea. | | | | | | |

| | hi taskr. ok, while i generally agree with you on the human rights stuff the families of suicide bombers aren't terrorists. this thing about obama (which i presume means his party) receiving money from saudi is an odd story and i am still not sure why this is the first time i have seen it. it is the kind of thing you would certainly pick up on so can you solve the mystery of what this story really was? | | | |

| | It might be noted that while Barack Obama may have recieved campaign mondy from foreign countries -- I'd like to see the articles, myself -- the Bush family has had cordial relations with the royal house of Saudi Arabia for two generations now. Where do you think the real influence was before Obama became president? Be that as it may, I do not believe that invading another country is the solution. Surviving his first term may be the more pressing matter; he's already closing upon the record held by John Kennedy for the number of assassination attempts upon a sitting president. I believe we will have to see some substantial improvement in our economic situation and, if possible, the reduction of our military presence in the Middle East, if he is to be re-elected. As I see it, the economy and health care are more important to voters than foreign policy. We need to be able to eat, pay bills and keep our minds occupied with the annoyances and rewards of work before the foreign issue can get first focus. | | | | | | |

| | To get re-elected, Obama is going to have to move toward the middle. Right now, he's governing from the left. Not left enough for his base, but too far left for people like me -- independent moderate. He's going to have to revise his priorities. He has his social change agenda higher in priority than the economy and jobs. He'll be a one-term president if he doesn't turn the ship fast. | | | | | | |

| | Dear lichee, It is so good to have news from China ! My parents were born in Shanghai, because my grand parents were fleeing from the Nazis. After Pearl Harbour in December 1941, all my family were forced into a Japanese Concentration Camp, until Hiroshima and Nagazaki. I don't think China should be afraid od the Dalai Lama. He is not a Muslim terrorist, is a very peacefull man.If Obama wants to be friend with the Dalai Lama, it doesn't mean China has to leave Tibet. After all, China has the biggest army in the world, and has the right to have Occupied Territories. | | | |

| | Well, wow, this is a shock to me. Huh, well I think he shouldn't have received money like that from other countries such as Saudi Arabia and so on. Why would he do that. Anyways, my advice to Obama to get reelected (I first plan on not voting on him for next term anyways), but my advice is to follow up on the things that you have promised to American's which I have not seen any of that done yet. I mean hey, now he's President what happened to all the stuff that he promised. If he can possibly get American's on the right track into getting their jobs back, then he may have a high chance in getting reelected. I understand he's trying to get health insurance for the american people who are uninsured. Which includes me . But hello, I think getting people their jobs back is more important cause how are they going to pay for health insurance with no job. Just my opinion. I don't understand why he is working on the health insurance thing first. Good job on getting the US soldiers out of Iraq, I don't think its smart on sending them to Afganistan. I thought he was planning on ending the war. If that is what he truely wants then why is he sending them to Afganistan. He's not doing what he promised American's which is send our troops home. At this point I am not happy with some of his decisions that he is making, and because of that, I definitely plan on not voting for him, next term. | | | | | | |

| | "Good job on getting the US soldiers out of Iraq" He didn't do it. Not only are there still plenty there, there will be for years to come. I'm no Bush fan..believe me..but the success in Iraq was IN SPITE OF Obama rather than because of anything he did. He didn't do anything but take over a plan already in execution. | | | |

| | @xfahctor I know he hasn't done it yet, but hopefully he sticks to what he said he was planning on doing that I heard like sometime next year if I am correct. I am not sure. He hasn't done much of anything, so I really don't know. I'm actually more of a Bush fan then an Obama fan. I'm not really happy at whats been going on here which is nothing. @jb78000 nope I have no idea sorry. | | | |

| | Trish... what I'm saying is "what he was planning" is what was already in place, only he didn't plan it, it was already in place and underway before he even became president. I have to at least give Bush credit for pulling something out of his arse there. By the way, lol, your awfull brave admitting to being a bush fan here. Personaly I vote libertarian, independant or constitution party now. Rabbit.... I remember hearing about this quite a while back...I think I had responded to a well sourced post on it....but that was right after the elections. | | | |

| | @xfahctor lol, yeah I guess I am brave. Now, I'll admit, even though I think he's was pretty much an okay president, I still don't agree with some of the stuff he did. Ah, so it really wasn't Obama's plan it was already going into effect for them to get out. I thought...well I guess I heard wrong lol. And so well in the end of it all, really Obama hasn't done much to impress me yet and I'm not voting for him. I didn't vote for him this time around and I won't next time around unless he make some big changes and even then, I don't know. @jb7800 huh, you know what I'm sure I would have heard about it as well. I'm sure it would have been all over the news, here at least. I looked into the discussion above and saw that website and I too was on the search for that article speaking of him getting money from them. | | | |

| | we have a mystery. i hate it when this happens in here - i start to get really interested in what a story really was and it turns out nobody knows. my next job (when i have finished being a tabloid reporter in the uk and making up, sorry, researching, ridiculous scandals) is to be an investigative journalist in your country. or maybe not. oh and yes it was brave to say something nice about bush. if you really want to be foolhardy i recommend starting a discussion in this section saying bush and obama are both ok people, even if you don't agree with what they do/did, and neither is, in actual fact, hitler. wear a bullet proof vest. | | | |

| | If i were president obama, i would be true to my word and to myself. I have to do the right thing and not think about re-election. that should be the farthest thing on my mind. It is hard enough to do a balancing act. | | | | | | |

| | I remember when Obama was elected there was this euphoria about him. I was surprise to see a picture of Obama on a cross with that question : do you think President Obama is the Messiah ? And today I discovered this joke in a Yahoo Group, it is only a joke, don't take it seriously. It is the story of a young captain who fought with US Army in Iraq. He wants to be a CIA agent. After 6 months of tests, he is accepted for an interview. The CIA officer tells him : Captain if you want to be a CIA agent you will have to kill 7 democratic senators, President Obama, and a rabbit. Why the rabbit ? That is a very good answer, you can begin to work tomorrow morning. Why is Obama compared to JFK. | | | |
