That is really a new opinion!
Essentially,computers are amachines.I don't think they can instead of human,human makes them.So,no matter computers become what,even intellgent,human can also control them.
I say,the next generation computers will fit our life like watches,phones,pencils and so on.

by the definition the next generation by the hardware view will have the nano technology. so your laptop processing element size could be some milimetres and will have more speed.
and the point of software view. this will have the artificial intelligence so that it could do work without many instructions. and could create better instructions for itself and will learn with time and process.

The goal in computer tech is a more fast, efficient, and small computation, so I think the next generation could be the quantum computers, here more information about it:

We can predict a certain level of ability and maybe even predict a few of the advances that will be made, but we could not accurately predict what the next generation of computers is likely to be. Many of the aspects of computer technology employed will probably not even have been considered at present, so we would be simply guessing at what could be potentially developed.

there is no doubt in my mind that computers will be better and better. if now computer brain is only 1/1000 of human brain is capable of, who knows maybe 10 years from now it will become 1/100 and who knows what computers can do 50 years from now.

but i'm sure people will not be sad and lazy just because we have ultra-powerful compters. the possibility is there, no doubt, but parents (or all adults in general) will need to teach their children responsibility and how to take care of themselves.

i think human in general is smart enough to think about self preservation. or at least the responsible ones are.

I do believe technology will advance, as does all things. However, I do not believe it will advance to the point humans are no longer needed. After all it us the humans that are responsible for the technology that exists today. And, human interaction will always exist and be needed.
