What's the deal with healthcare reform?  

WOW! so many inacuracies...so little time...
"There are millions that die every day because they don't have health insurance"
No, the statistic is 14,000 a year...not millions every day.

"It is a package with a public option for people to pick up health insurance who don't have it from a job benefit"
Wrong again...there is no public option in this bill.

"A lot of people who are already snug with their insurance aren't happy about this change although it doesn't truly effect them much"
Yes it does in fact change a lot, even for those with insurance or coverage of some sort. It mandates that you purchase "acceptable" health insurace (bonus if you can tell me what part of the constitution forbids them from doing this by the way) and puts the enforcement of that mandate in the hands of the IRS. They will be going through monthly and make sure everyone has coverage that THEY deem is acceptable. even if you have coverage already and like it..if the IRS doesn't like it you will be required to dump it for what they consider "acceptable" coverage.

lol...I can't begin to count the number of people I have to correct on this. Auto insurance is required by STATE laws, not federal. the federal government does not have this authority to begin with. And not all states require it...mine doesn't in fact, so you can imagine how distastfull being ordered to buy health insurance is to the people of my state...

I am sure beattrizguiselle was only speaking in term.Meaning as an example. WE know car insurance if by state. What happens in your state when someone without insurance has an accident? Doesn't matter if it is for car insurnace or health some continue to drive with it casue they simply can't afford it. Mayube they should put a cap on how much insurance companies can charge for it.
