Call center agent or practice you profession?  

Money is a big issue when it comes to finding the right work. It is hard to turn down a job that pays well even if you were trained for something else. Your reason for working is the deciding factor. Is it for money or is it to practice a profession you have always wanted. I believe you should work where you are most happy.

I never wished working in the call center industry. It's only good as to the high pay but not as good as to culture and lifestyle.

I am graduating in two weeks with a degree in Elementary Education. Unfortunately, with the bad economy the state of Idaho has decided to cut education spending. I would do anything to be able to teach after I graduate. I do sub occassionally, but those jobs are far and few between. I know that money is important, but a career should be something you enjoy. Could you possibly teach during the day and work part-time in the call center? This world needs great teachers and I would hate to see you give up teaching.

Hmm.. you can try to work at a call center for a while. For you to be able to earn enough money then go back to what you really love.

I am in my chosen profession already, but here is some advice. Young people tend to jump for high and fast pay. Nothig wrong with it, but you have to remember that there need to be stability in any career you choose. If you can do both, so much better. But that is not always easy. TATA.

If you work in call center you may become a manager, or might even manage a project. At my knowledge there is no higher post, the money is good in call canter if it's a BPO, not much to earn in domestic call canter. I would prefer everybody to go practice there profession, it's takes time to get establish in a profession but I think the satisfaction is great to be in your profession rather than be in a call center...

Let's face it, getting a job in the call center industry will be a very big help in terms of finance, especially if you are a fresh graduate. This will be a good stepping stone to gain experience and earn a lot. But personally, In my own point of view, I would still prefer to practice my chosen field because I believe that with patience and hardwork you will be able to reach your goal.

I think it would really all depend on the financial situation. If my husband and I really needed money then I'd probably take the call center job over going into the field of my choosing. I would just wait until we had money saved up before I went back to working in the field I went to college for.

i am a graduate of a technical course. i have worked with different companies before, after i graduated. i worked with the same field as i have studied, in short, my chosen profession. i though of working in a call center after i am done with the profession or when i felt the boredom and of course, when i felt what i was earning is not anymore enough. but when i started looking for a job, an offer to work for the government came and so i grabbed it. working in the government is more stable than working in any private companies. and even up to these times that i am already in the government, i still receive calls and offers me to be part of their workforce. the salary is high but it will not give you longer working stability than in the government so if turned down their offers.
