How can I make an Interest category popular?  

Having people respond on my discussions there actually feels great but Its going to be more awesome if people will make their own discussions on those categories too. Actually I'm not the creator of the conspiracy theory category, that category was 3 years old. I'm just trying to revive the zombie out of the grave. The ones I created would be a secret.

I'm starting to see some development and I hope it continues because it can make everything to be worth it. Those categories were like my babies.

I always respond immediately to responses, I dont really have struggles on getting responses but Its more of me wanting to see people making discussions there. You are right about patience, I would be happy if people will start making discussions in those categories, I will religiously respond to every person who will make discussions on those categories, Since I dont want to be the sole author of discussions there. I do still find interesting discussions in the uber popular categories such as People,Mylot.com,Love,relationships,Student,me,animal lover and Music Lover but I have a more different interest. Plus being responsible for making a Category popular will be a huge honor for me. Plus I got tired of the topics about Love,making money online and hopes and dreams.

I wonder if its possible for me to make banners on my profile that will lead to those categories.

Oh yeah, That would be interesting, since I cant make banners, I may try making banners, who would have thought that banners are not only useful for PTC's and MLM's. I would be interested to have banners of those categories in my profile.

Well bugs is bugs, after the upgrade of mylot all of my notifications became one again while I have them off since I dont use my email at all and I was more active here. :P

Go back and remove the bit at the beginning and after 'category' place (br) but instead of ( put < and instead of ) put > and then watch what happens

I get people responding in my interests but no one is making their own discussions there, I'm keeping my self patience and I'm even considering not to make discussions so people will be encourage to go there and make discussions of their own. I found 3 year old categories that i was trying to revive and I also created 2 categories of my own.

I go through a splurge where I try to make a category live again, after all we have so many of the same categories, but it seems there's the popular ones and that is that.

The categories i tried reviving have no similar categories but its worth it that i get responses but I wish its them who will make the discussions and I'm the one who will respond. I just dont want to look like a fool being the only authors of the threads in those categories. The urban legends and world domination are 2 cute evil things I found and its fun but its gonna be more fun if I will see discussions there were i'm not the author. I might try making youtube videos about them. LOL

If you would like to, send me the links to them through PM and I will check them out and see what I can add to the categories. There should be more exposure to it that way.

Basically I just want to challenge my self and I think its a big honor to make a dead category back among the living and make my own category and make it popular. Before I'm the type who plays safe and make discussions to popular areas and categories such as People, Love,Me, Success,Music lover and Mylot.com but I dont enjoy it. I actually have more fun with the new obscure topics but it would have been cool if some other people will make threads of their own in those areas,

I think going outside of the normal categories makes you have to think. Afterall the normal categories are really about life's major things such as Questions and Answers, other obscure catgories have you said are, well they are nice, brings more of a challenge.

I think I get what your saying, but I'll be waiting on those links.

I'm really happy that i'm getting responses but I will be happier once I see people make their own discussions in those interest categories, I think more people in mylot enjoys responding over making a thread of their own.

I promise to getting to make a discussion in one of the categories, I will need to get everything on mylot organized and straightened though which might take me awhile!

I think I just saw 98799779 number of "earn one topics" as of today, The good thing about obscure topics, the responses you got is just right, you can manage to make a chain. Unlike the gazillions of replies from gazillions of people. This we can focus more.

Nah, I dont really like the area Questions and answers, Its already popular, I want to make a unpopular area to be popular. Its not about money making its about winning a challenge for me, If I want money making will play safe with categories like Mylot,people,questions and answers,love and relationships but I'm bored with them. I get responses from my discussions, My intention was different, I want people make their own discussion on the categories I liked and the categories I created.
