What's with the Easter bunny?

Its being associated with Easter sunday because some people don't want their children exposed to the crazy Christians, who foolishly believe in a God. So instead of the story of that one guy Jesus coming back to life, you get a bunny rabbit that lays eggs. Like on Christmas, instead of Jesus being born, you get santa claus. But somewhere along the way they forgot they made up these things, and now they're whining that those crazy Christians are pushing their bunny rabbits, and santa clauses on everyone. frikin hilarious is what it is. Whoever came up with the easter bunny had to have been a hippy.

nrtan 2000 nope Easter bunnys or any other bunnys do not lay eggs, only chickens ducks and geese lay eggs that I know of . I have always wondered just where the Easter Bunny idea came from, its always puzzled me too. makes a cute story for the kids but what is it really all about? I sure do not know.

The Easter Bunny is just a fun thing thought up for the kiddies. Rabbits do not lay eggs. Only birds and insects.
The rabbit and eggs could have to do with the crazy chicken that attacked the bunny..... sorry couldnt resist.

I don't know the true reason that there is an Easter bunny, but I've always thought that the reason for the Easter bunny is because Easter falls in the early spring where we are reawakening from the winter slumber of nature. This is the time of the year when the wild animals reproduce and when the trees and flowers come back to life. You are right on one thing though, bunnies do not lay eggs, they give birth to live babies.

I was thinking along this lines too...I don't know what's up with the bunny and stuff during easter too but upon reading some responses here I think I know now
