I don't think so. Apple has typically been one of the most expensive computers on the market and I think with the lower prices of PCs they've had to finally sell their products at something comparable. The iPad is a new form of computer and thus-far untested in the market so they'll offer it at a price where people who are on the fence about whether or not to get the iPad will buy it.

I think it will not happen.After seeing ipad introduction video. I think ipad it is an enlarged ipod touch, a lot of online games can't to play in the above.there is some large-scale software alse can't run int the ipad.Ipad just a notebook to the Internet only, the usual advatages of laptops ,ipad can not complete with,and I think that other laptop manufacturers will not lower their prices.There is ipad must use the wifi internet access,can not use the wired network,so in some areas si not on the network,which is ipad fatal.
