Audio Books  

Hi Bobmnu,
I like hardback or softback books compared to audio. I tried them could not get into them. I like reading for myself and getting my pictures of what is happening in my pointview. Sometimes audio project maybe not they way I wanted it too or leads you in another way in the story.

I do on occaision listen to audio books. It depends on the author and the reader. I've come across some readers who have very grating voices that just ruin the story. And then there are others who bring life to a story and I get so caught up in it.

I don't typically listen to audio books. I find that I can read faster than whoever they've got reading can speak. I prefer to read the words to myself. I think that maybe I'd listen to audio books before I listen to music when driving or going on walks, but I don't do much driving or walking right now.

Not only do I "read" books this way, I also record them. I work as a freelance narrator for Librivox.org and I am also starting my own site - Public Domain Audio Books on blogspot.

The last audio book I read was Bad Moon Rising by Sherrilyn Kenyon.It was kinda weird listening to a guy doing female parts especially the you know what scenes (since it was a Romance novel).The bad thing about this audio book was I couldn't skip the unpleasant parts (where characters die).

I read audio books its helpful to me because i can do other things such as eat,write,post, or think while the book is going on. My library even has a list of books you can download onto your computer for free. My goal is to have read 100 books in 2010 and I'm two away! If i can't read 1 an a half books in 11 days i need to have a talk with myself. It's exceptionable to get this close without actually achieving your goal. It's like getting to within 1,500 of the 50,000 required to win nanowrimo and just stopping that's not acceptable. Sometimes you have to push through it even though you don't feel like doing it anymore.
