Chicago residents are paying $3.54 per gallon of gasoline, with a barrel of gas going up we all can expect to be paying even more at the pump. Today I went to the city to do my monthly grocer shopping at Wal-Mart,three shoppers and my self suffered sticker shock as Wal-Mart has raised their prices on so many foods. For two year's I paid $2.50 for a item we enjoy eating today that same item was $3.69,I thought my only recourse was to protest by not buying our favor item. With the cost of food, gasoline, natural gas, housing, electricity, propane, oil, all out of sight I have to wonder how the every day working family can expect to survive the hell of a mess our citizens has been placed in? So much for not raising your tax one penny if you make under $250,00 or was it $200,00 or thinking about it was it $150,00? Now the Obama administration is talking about a national sales tax,how much longer will it be that we will be like the Uk,Greece? (The UK) http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/168128 Unleaded hit an average of 119.9p a litre for the first time ever, breaking the previous July 2008 record of 119.7p. And there is worse to come, warned experts last night. A perfect storm of rising wholesale costs, the weak pound and more Government tax hikes will propel fuel costs even higher. Drivers were warned to brace themselves for a 5p-a-litre surge in the next three months, pushing unleaded prices to a 125p a litre average by the summer holidays. CHICAGO (CBS) Don't look now, but a gradual rise in gasoline prices has suddenly turned into a gallop, with drivers facing a new round of sticker shock. But as CBS 2's Derrick Blakley reports, the higher prices might actually be a good thing. The growing pain at the pump kind of snuck up on many Chicago drivers, but now they're really feeling the bite. "I just paid $3.54 for gas," said Michelle as she filled up at a Chicago gas station. "It's just outrageous." http://cbs2chicago.com/co... |
