UFC 112, a big, big upset  

I just got over the news that Frank Edgar defeated BJ Penn in UFC 112 and very surprisingly, Edgar won on all judges cards, one judge even scored 50-45 in favor of Edgar. Penn is known to have an iron chin and is considered as one of the top fighters in the sport and it's just a huge upset for Edgar.

Another surprise that got me is Anderson Silva's unanimous victory over Demian Maia. Considering Silva's way better striking skills than Maia, I really thought that this bout would not get past the first round or if it should, not in the second. Both Silva and Maia are great Jiu Jitsu fighters with Maia having a little edge but Silva's striking is unparalleled in this fight.

And for us Filipinos, Mark Muñoz just had another very convincing win. Muñoz won via a TKO in the second round against Kendall Grove and that should ice him a spot to get some matches against the higher stacked fighters. Muñoz is indeed making a name for himself in the UFC.

I still have to watch each of these fights over the internet and I'm just so excited. My picks Silva and Muñoz won their matches as well as Matt Hughes over Renzo Gracie. Hughes has defeated two Gracies in his career already and on a personal note, I just love Hughes beating Renzo Gracie. This Gracie is just talking too much and it's just funny he's eating his own words now.
