Finally an English Language Aswang movie!!!  

I hate those uber sensitive Filipinos, so what if its a negative representation,It was still exposure. Look at how Japan was so Proud of their malevolent spirits like Sadako. Aswangs are underrated monsters, they can make good horror movies if the westerners will only give them a chance.

exactly they are hundred times scarier than vampires (i was never afraid of vampires they are presented as sexy, fairy beings...

and we all know that teenage girls were lusting over vampires and werewolves right now.

Yeah, Vampires were supposed to burn with Sunlight but that movie that tickles the teenage girls have inaccurate details about vampires. They cant survive the light.

We have good folkloric monsters that would make awesome Hollywood movie. If only Filipinos were less sensitive. I love these monsters, they deserve to have movie exposures beyond Philippine cinema.

Yeah.. I think we should have more exposures.. This is just a start and maybe they would be able to feature a movie for tikbalangs, capris and many more... ^^

The lead star on this movie was the guy who played villain roles in Titanic and the Mummy. I hope more of our folklores can make international scene.

Joel Torre is also there and he is a good actor. Yeah I know the guy and I've watched his movies, including the others you mentioned... pretty pretty interesting..

I wonder what the aswangs here looks like, I'm so excited to watch this film.

Aswang with western special effects...That is freaking badass and awesome!! If we can only have more movies like this, it might help some Filipino actors and actresses penetrate Hollywood.

Yeah. I hope so too.. I think they have a horror movie with iza calsado as the ghost.hihihi

Ghost is not a local thing though, Its a very international thing, I'm hoping more for our local monsters instead.

I'm so proud of the aswangs, I hope that there will be more international exposure for these monsters. I hope there will be an international Manananggal movie soon. I recognized 2 Filipino actors in this movie, Joel Torre and Natalie Mendoza.

It wont be showed in our country because of the sensitive Filipinos who gets offended very easily. So what if its a negative portrayal, its just a movie, they need to grow up and move on.

Why risk going to the sidewalks if there was a was a bay with a ship on it. If you know what I mean, I can feel the torrents of the water.

I hope this will inspire real life aswangs to spread terror outside the Philippines and show the werewolves who is the boss now.

During the eighties we actually have decent horror movies. I dont consider Panday as an Aswang movie since it doesn't center about an aswang. I just hope aswangs will get more western exposure.

There was a Filipino Australian actress there, she was named Natalie Mendoza, she always star in British horror movies. She usually have a British accent but I heard she will have a Filipino accent here.

I haven't seen the movie but I want to see how the west will depict our aswangs. They were superior over the other western monsters since they were shape shifting.

I've seen the youtube link and they seem to be pretty interesting to watch. I hope they would show it here in the Philippines.

I hope I can see a mambabarang English movie next, Or a movie about a Manananggal. We have a cool roster of monsters that would make a good Hollywood material.

Yeah nice idea! Maybe we could suggest that to the producers of this film. There are indeed plenty of folkloric characters that they can make a film. I think "Tikbalang" and "Tiyanak" stories can be a good starting point in here.

If you look at my older folklore discussion, I have a discussion about manananggal and its Malaysian relative Penanggalan, I want those 2 monsters meet up in a movie as well.

They were afraid to show it here since there were Filipinos were sensitive from negative portrayals, you know those people who just whine a lot and have no life.

Yes I am, I think more doors will open for Filipinos if they were less sensitive and conservative.

I wanna see a movie about an Aswang who migrated abroad, That would be freaking cool but offensive to sensitive fanatics.
